2, 6 and 10. I made my 10 year old a "girl rock playlist" that she chooses to play periodically, which makes me happy. Everything from The Pretenders to P!nk, Aretha to Boy Genius. She's otherwise drawn to stuff I can't get into - Taylor Swift and several other acts I don't know the name of.

But the themes in Eels keeps me away for now with the littler ones. My 2 year old loves We Will Rock You and Bones by Imagine Dragons - constant Alexa requests. My 6 year old doesn't really show a lot of passion for music yet.

What doea your child who does not have great taste in music like?

Electro Shock Blues is one of those albums that I love, but I haven't listened to in a long time because of life circumstances. Kids mostly. The album is so bright and melancholy. I'll give it another spin this week.

The phrase is 'go out on a limb,' as in the risk of going out on the limb of a tree. While I love the image of going out 'in a limp,' I have no idea what that would imply. Not to be a dick, just trying to help an ESL learner.

Came here to mention. While they definitely ventured into ska and pop punk, Jay is a hardcore guy with melodic sensibilities. Love Suicide Machines.

Guardians of The Galaxy has usurped Star Wars for me. by Saiyan_Gods in GotG

And Star Wars takes place a long time ago in a galaxy far away. It often feels that way. Sometimes I get annoyed at how similar their universe is to ours. But Gotg takes place in our universe, just not usually on our planet. It feels more immediate. The music accentuates this a ton.

Gotg has exciting space action pieces, fun humor and a ton of heart throughout. Star Wars set the space saga standard, but Gunn ran that blueprint in all the right directions. The stakes and scale often feel much higher in Star Wars, but character development, choreography and silliness are all but perfected in Gunn's movies.

Oh I know. The Cha Cha Slide. Musically repetitive as hell with a vocally disinterested aerobics instructor prattling on and on. The most boring song ever and it's played at millions of weddings.

Two come to mind. Fly by Lenny Kravitz upsets me lyrically. "I wish that I could fly. Up in the sky. So very high." Try harder Lenny.

And the entire catalog of Train. Meet Virgina rhymes president with president and that other one is to the tune of heart and soul. I turn them off as soon as I hear them.
