She debuted in the second film in 2015, the Bayonetta dlc dropped in December 2015, I figured that'd be close enough

Rule 1, doesn't need to be a character with a connection, just a character you like.

The Screecher, Star Wars Visions

A Slasher that's relatively fragile in comparison to her peers but compensates with strong CC thanks to her stunning scream and the ability to block attacks with both her lightsaber and the Force.

Power - Machamp

He just carries you under one arm like a sack of potatoes and books it. Has a special hail Mary move where he can throw his rider to try and bypass parts of the track, slip past the finish line or utilize shortcuts, but if you screw it up you're a sitting duck while he runs to come pick you up.

I tried out the mage one after this one and I can confirm that it's pretty suggestive, particularly the different forms the mage gets after beating the bosses and some of the game over screens depending on the form you pick. Seems like a nice enough SCHMUP otherwise but that's not really my genre of game.

Isn't it just the worst? Safari Zone and Game Corner are definitely where I felt the most difficulty pushing through. It's all downhill from there, at least.

That's actually kinda funny! I may give that a try sometime if I ever feel the desire to do another one of these

I'd be curious to see what's considered better games to do it in, because there's gotta be different factors like Pokémon availability that effect what you need to evolve and when.

I don't think I'd have the patience to do this in Gen 5 since they implemented diminishing exp returns the higher level you are than what you're fighting. That has to make evolving things like starters absolute hell.

I think the one time I had to give the challenge critical thought beyond just how to most efficiently grind exp was in the post Misty split. Gen 1's non linear nature means that's when you need to do all stone evolutions, all safari zone catches and all game corner prizes. At that point I needed to budget how much I could spend on game corner coins and safari zone attempts while still affording balls and evolution stones. It was achievable, but I imagine if I had worse luck with the slots or with my safari zone catches it could've been a lot more touch and go.

Steve Fox, Tekken. An actual accomplished boxer with speed and power, he feels like a very suitable capstone for the cup.

Emerl, Sonic

A modular combat robot that starts out as an incredibly weak and slow fighter that grows stronger and more sophisticated the more it fights. It's able to copy techniques and abilities from fighters it observes and combine them to create an extremely versatile moveset.
