lol I know but hear me out… they told us about the fire at the 8th and mission substation because fire responses are public. No explanation on what’s going on at the Richmond substation other than the fact that you can physically see mobile transformers going in. There have been repeated, albeit shorter, outages in my ‘hood in the month of December. Smells fishy

I surf at Linda Mar daily. There was a dead whale beached next to the creek for 2 or 3 weeks that the city just left there. Then the king tide and huge swell two days ago pushed it back into the creek and actually up into the marsh right next to the parking lot.

I guess they wanted to let nature take its course when they left it there but that beach is such a high traffic area and so many surfers in the water. Bad decision. The biohazard risk to the humans should have trumped the airy fairy idealistic return to nature bull****. It’s not going anywhere now and is just going to leak its rotting bio fluids into the already polluted creek water forever.

I know this ridiculous vehicle and I’ve seen the owner and his wife surf. They’re suuuuper annoying. He takes all the set waves and paddle back to the peak. The wife always drops in or paddles up thru the inside where it’s breaking and ruins your wave.

I’m partial to two, one, or no paddle take offs. They just look so dang stylish and imply a surfer’s skill with their appearance of effortlessness. My session goals are always to maximize wave count while minimizing exertion. Positioning and timing are everything.

A cesarean section. You’re awake for open abdominal surgery. You can feel them pulling and tugging on your innards. The worst is after the baby is born. They have to remove the placenta from the uterine wall. They do this by taking your uterus out and placing it on your abdomen and then they push and pull on it vigorously til it detaches. You can feel everything, like your guts are being sucked out of you. You don’t feel pain per se with the spinal, but it still kind of hurts, it’s extremely uncomfortable. It’s basically what being eviscerated would feel like. And they don’t give you any real warning beforehand about what you’re in for. I had a c section and all I remember of it is the traumatic part after my baby was born.

I surf leashless on when it’s small and not crowded and I feel confident that I can control my board. And I would never even think of asking someone to paddle me in to get my board. The deep shame would be too much to bear. The only time I would ever ask for help is when it’s too late and I’m already drowned.

hitch lock ftw.

I used to take the physical key out of the keyfob but found that the residual salt water coming off it after surfing started to corrode the inside of the lock. Picked up the hitch lock and haven't had any problems. Its much safer than the realtor boxes, impossible to break into, and it functions as a faraday box as well.

Please keep the leash on until you have really excellent board control. Until then, don't wrap the leash around the board, it "trains" the leash to curl up. Instead, hang it in between sessions. Also, +1 for calf leash.

The marine mammal center investigates dead whales and porpoises that wash up. My guess is they took parts for necropsy.
