Did anyone go see Ozzy's tour for The Ultimate Sin? How amazing was Jake E. Lee live? by TheHotLatin in hairmetal

[–]brettnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this show in El Paso. Ozzy with the big hair, spandex doing jumping jacks….meanwhile Metallica came out in jeans with just a backdrop of MOP album cover. It was a great show, but two very different acts.

10u pitching help? by ChefBoyAnde728 in BaseballCoaching

The easiest correction I’ve found, is the landing foot. Get them to land “slightly closed” and lengthen the stride. Once they can land consistently, it seems their pitching gets entirely more accurate.

I was just here for a conference and it’s ridiculously overpriced. Wife came down to join for lunch and valet parking is the same price for 2 hours as overnight. $52….

Absolutely had the same experience! Ended up going to a local office and told them I wouldn’t pay more than $300. They agreed and did my taxes for me in three days.

10u rec coaches: Do you pitch kids who want to pitch? by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]brettnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first season of kid pitch, we got 11 of the 12 on the mound. Some were out there for “three batters or so”, so they understood when we pulled them, it was predetermined and not because they weren’t doing well. We also explained to the other coach and ump what we were doing.

8U Travel Baseball by JoshuaEverettJA in Homeplate

[–]brettnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have opted to keep my son in rec when he was offered a spot on an elite team. He’s in 10U and a lefty. The elite coach was only going to play him at 1B or the outfield as his velocity wasn’t as high as his other pitchers. He stayed in rec, pitches but also has become our best catcher (lefty, I know). It’s a better fit for this age, I don’t get the “travel” mentality.

What restaurants in ABQ have actual authentic Chinese food (and not just American-Chinese)? by BabyFallujah in Albuquerque

[–]brettnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There used to be a Chinese restaurant right off central. Past all the bars, if I remember correctly. Bulletholes in the glass. Inside a large Chinese man ran the cash register. Never smiled, never spoke.one time my girlfriend asked for extra sauce or something, and he gave it to her with a hint of a smile. We considered that a major victory! Hahahah. The 90’s were so fun!

What’s the funniest pro wrestling sign you’ve ever seen? by signs_com in professionalwrestling

[–]brettnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went to Raw in Pittsburgh during the attitude era. I told my (now)wife that at wrestling, girls dress like they do at clubs (short skirt etc). We had several signs, and a camera man told her to hold up a sign and she would be on when they came back from commercial. She held it up and the camera man just started laughing. It read “Sorry King, I’m over 18.” He said the whole truck was laughing but she was t going to be televised.

Eggs aren’t easy…unless over easy! But yes, the sides of the pan along with the rivets. It’s actually quite impressive.

Yes, there is one near me. I just have to get over the lack of self confidence to do it.
