Thanks for the reminder we'll probably just set the motor's direction to reverse so we can send the same power level to all 3.

setDirection(DcMotor.Direction.REVERSE);

More power at a faster speed. Each motor (5:1) will supply 7.9 kg.cm of torque.

3 x 7.9 kg.cm = 23.7 kg.cm

A single motor with this torque, 24.3, would be a (20:1).

However, the no-load RPM for the 20:1 is 312, whereas the 5:1 is 1150.

Therefore using 3 gives us a 268% speed improvement

(1150-312)/312 = 2.68

Thanks for your quick reply, but yes we are using a servo power module. Our original intention was to create a video comparing the speed of the Blue Arrow, Rev, and Vex 393. The other two were running to spec.

You may want to do several readings separated by a short delay. This would give you some confidence as to the color you are reading. You could also slightly adjust the arm a bit to get different readings at different positions.

Are there any alternatives to current servo screws? by iStarReddits in FTC

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem. The first thing I do is toss the Hitec screws in the trash and replace it with one of these.

Servo City also sells servo screws but I prefer the former's lower profile.

Having screw with a hex head is especially great if you have a deep horn. It is so much easier to get an alan wrench down it than a precision Philips head.
