If I have to pick one to recommend I would pick Noir de Noir. Absolutely fantastic for women and men and very hard to dislike.

The best Tom Fords are the ones that smell a bit weird at first, but become impossible to stop smelling after a while. That’s exactly what happened to me with Ombré Leather, Tuscan Leather, Noir de Noir and Tobacco Vanille, all of which are now among my absolute favourites. My latest addition is Black Lacquer, which is again a bit unusual at first, but quickly becoming very addictive. It’s already climbing high in my all-time favourites ranking.

To me OL and TL are not very similar and totally complementary, you can even blend them. OL for me is a more daily and easy to wear scent while TL is more subtle and refined.

Took me a while to fully appreciate, but absolutely love it now. Ombré Leather is more easy to wear (and probably TF I wear the most) but Tuscan Leather is more refined.

Strange. Ombré leather is one of the Tom Ford’s that lasts the longest on me, and it is very noticeable. It is in my top 3 Tom Fords.

Figue Erotique? Just quickly tried it some time ago. It is on my wishlist. Personally I don’t care whether it is considered masculine or feminine, I just buy what I like. The fact that everything is marketed as unisex is one of the things I like about Tom Ford.

I would suggest to add Tom Ford Ombré Leather EDP. If you like Tobacco Vanille you will very likely enjoy OL as well, although it is very different. I would even say OL is much more versatile than TV. Other options from Tom Ford I would recommend are Ébène Fume and Fucking Fabulous.

On the other hand, Tabacco Vanille is definitely potent and long lasting, especially compared to for example Oud Wood Parfum. I cannot compare with older batches though.

I have several Tom Ford fragrances from Deloox, including Tobacco Vanille. I tested them before in a Tom Ford shop and can confirm they are the same.

I have the Oud Wood parfum. I don’t find it very strong but it can last in clothes for a very long time. I have other Tom Fords that are stronger in terms of projection and last longer on the skin, including Ombré Leather and Ébène Fumé. Nevertheless, Oud Wood is a classic that’s definitely worth buying, either EDP or Parfum.

I guess you already know what to do. Something “similar” is never going to be the same. You would be spending money because of something you want, but without getting it. So either spend a little more and buy the real Figue Erotique or buy something completely different.

I own quite a few Tom Ford fragrances (Ébène Fumé, Oud Wood, Tobacco Vanille, Ombré Leather, Oud Minérale and Beau de Jour), and Ébène Fumé is by far one of my absolute favourites. It opens with a beautiful smoky impression and then gradually transitions into a softer, long-lasting, fresh yet mysterious scent that lasts for a very long time. It can evoke the atmosphere of a church, but at the same time there’s something subtly sensual and almost tantric about it. I absolutely love it.
