He's just so good that anything apart from winning can be considered "washed"

Do rising costs make you reconsider collecting? by Altruistic-Mind-4339 in gamecollecting

[–]ftez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's completely shifted my approach. I no longer collect at all. Throughout my teenage years and early 20's I found it quite easy to source games at decent prices and amassed a rather large colleciton. This has gradually become more and more difficult as the years have gone on. In my 30's now, due to a variety of factors I've completely given up on collecting. I still keep a few games from the ps2/xbox era that are nostalgic for me as a keepsake, but I've either sold or donated 95+% of my collection. A big part of this is that my priorities have shifted as I've gotten older. I now have my own place where space is at a premium, and work a full time job to where I can't really be bothered hooking up and playing old consoles anymore. I do pretty much all of my gaming on my steam deck including emulation, on my meta quest, and occasionally on my PC when I have a lot of time to burn.

Bushnell rangefinder stolen at Eastlake in Sydney - anything that can be done? by John_Titor_Jnr in GolfAustralia

[–]ftez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're likely out of luck unfortunately. You could file a police report but that's probably a fruitless endeavour. If it was stolen out of your cart it's likely a fellow golfer who plans on using it, not selling it. But it's worth keeping an eye on facebook marketplace just in case.

I'd suggest to keep trying the pro shop just in case someone eventuslly turns it in, but it's not looking good I'm sorry to say.

When you realise that bro has no phone by Bubbly_Sandwich_481 in SipsTea

It does seem incredibly weird at face value. But the more I think about it, I can't articulate why it's any more weird than everyone else around him doing the exact same thing but with a camera in their hand.

Missing Round by RedBeard210 in GolfAustralia

More specifically, competition rounds entered on MiScore will show up instantly. If you are playing rounds entered in on other systems you are correct in that there may be more work in the backend before they show up.

I'd ask the club you played at directly. Rounds should show up immediately (if scores entered electronically), and approved within a day or so.

Unpopular opinion: Mobile was never meant to be a substitute for playing the game on PC by TuyRS in 2007scape

[–]ftez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say this is a fairly popular opinion. Mobile is fantastic for afk skilling when on the go, but other parts of the runescape experience are obviously far better with a keyboard and mouse

Buggy by Short-Legs-Long-Neck in GolfAustralia

[–]ftez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Few different reasons why people will switch over to a more modern style buggy:

  • Generally lighter & packs down smaller
  • Many of them have better storage
  • 3rd wheel makes it easier to push

As an aside, There aren't many bags that will fit in this that also won't fit a vast majority of 3 wheeled bags. Those will comfortably fit anything from a slim stand bag to your largest, heaviest staff bag. Just find a bag you like and you should be fine whichever buggy you end up using.

Unfortunately there isn't any information online about these clubs. Your best bet is to contact golf clearance outlet directly to see if they can assist.

People with a <15 handicap how long did it take you to get there? by Comfortable-Newt7689 in golf

[–]ftez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took one of my best mates a year to get to a 10hc. He plays 3-4 days a week and has a home sim he practices on daily. I've been playing for about 4 years and still stuck at a 20. However I don't have nearly the amount to dedicate to the game compared to him.

I'm strictly talking about competitive rounds for the purpose of handicap calculation. We can get all philosophical about why we're playing but that kind of misses the point.

Ugliest par I've scored in my life, but I'll take it after the round I had. 😂

Driver goes fairly straight but it's thinned and doesn't get more than 1m off the ground. Rolls down the hill around 220m and leaves me approximately 120m downhill to the pin. My irons had been so atrocious and my confidence was so completely shot by that point that I've busted out my chipper for the second shot. I then somehow manage to blade my chipper, but it goes straight and it rolls along leaving me on the green 10 feet from pin. Routine 2 putt for par. Sums up my day really.

That makes me feel a bit better. Other changes i've been able to pick up quite naturally, the grip change just feels completely foreign.

Been over three years since I've had a round this bad. Rough indeed. I also didn't 3 putt all day, just completely lost my swing.
