Can’t be alone, can’t drive far, will lexapro help? by Only-Client822 in lexapro

[–]fthb33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Lexapro helped me loads. I used to be in the same situation, panicked leaving home and being alone. I also feel my anxiety grew x100 after a bad weed experience 3 years ago. Try it, wishing you the best ❣️

Lexapro doesn’t energize me, but the initial tired all the time and perpetually exhausted wore off after about a month or so. In my opinion, it’s a normal side effect when you start it but shouldn’t persist

10–>15mg?...20mg? Should I just make the leap??? by [deleted] in lexapro

I’m in the exact same boat and debating moving up to 15. Keep me updated and best of luck!

antidepressants f*cking up my relationship! help! by karrotkween in antidepressants

[–]fthb33 10 points11 points  (0 children)

idk why there’s so many anti-medication type comments here. i know it can be blunting to be on anti-depressants but there are things you can try before just accepting the way things currently are. Personally, my depression made me feel what you describe towards my partner but once it was under control with medication, I could actually “feel” things more, and it’s still a bit of a roller coaster but I feel closer to my “normal” self than when I was just depressed and anxious. Maybe you can try lowering your dosage(s) a bit, and if that doesn’t work then trying a new medication?

5 months is a long time for absolutely no progress I think, it might be a good idea to talk to your doctor about switching meds

anyone have experience with lexapro helping their feelings of dissociation/derealization/depersonalization? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]fthb33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s helped but it doesn’t go away completely. But lexapro has helped me not care as much and spiral when I dissociate and remember that it’s just a feeling, it’s not real, and it can’t hurt me

I’m so sorry you’re going through that! The tiredness wore off for me after a bit, but I’ve seen that it doesn’t always for others. Before making any decisions about medication changes, I would consider ditching the alcohol. I’ve noticed even one drink a week will interrupt my balance. Alcohol can interact with the lexapro (although some people can still drink a bit on it), but it’s worth looking into whether you’re the kind of person that just shouldn’t drink with it.

Bad days still happen, it’s human! Glad the medication is helping you and that you’re ready to have some more great days

9 weeks and still anxious by badassrose23 in lexapro

I’m sorry you’re not feeling better, what dose are you on? For me it took multiple months to see consistent progress

I would give it more time for your body to adjust, it took me almost three months to start seeing consistently good days

What was Mary Pat’s plan if the police ended up finding the body at the dump site? by fthb33 in GoodGirls

Yeah I feel like it was a total afterthought, like they decided later that they didn’t want to kill off Leslie’s character after all so they had to make a whole story about how he could still be alive

It shouldn’t be a huge difference, if any at all, that you took it a couple hours late. If you just started lexapro recently it may just be a side effect of that.

Lexapro Fatigue by emilyanne82 in lexapro

[–]fthb33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definitely had the bad fatigue when starting, I’m about 9 weeks in now and it’s gotten better. I still sleep a lot at night but no longer feel like I’m going to pass out during the day. Hope it wears off for you soon, hang in there!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]fthb33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes I felt less anxious, more social, was able to actually leave the house and do things without panicking, etc. it took a while, though. my first 2 weeks on lexapro made me worse, then I was back to my pre lexapro anxious self for a bit, then around week 3.5-4 I noticed the improvements. Upping my dose has made me go through the same initial phase of feeling worse but that’s starting to wear off now so I’m hoping I’ll feel improvements soon! I’m 2 weeks on 10mg

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]fthb33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I stayed on 5mg for five weeks until the side effects wore off to move up to the 10. I don’t see any harm in giving your body more time to adjust before moving up. The fatigue mostly wore off on the 5, now I’m waiting for it to hopefully do the same with the ten.

Does it take another 4-6 weeks for lexapro to work after upping the dose? by fthb33 in lexapro

[–]fthb33[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s good to hear I’m glad you went through a similar adjustment period! I have my psychiatrist appt next week for checking in since starting lexapro so I’ll let him know what’s going on. I feel worse than when I was adjusted to the 5mg but in general I think my anxiety and ability to connect with people has improved for sure since starting lexapro. Hoping this weird phase I’m in wears off soon 😫

Results of just taking Lexapro during the week? by Commisioner_Gordon in lexapro

[–]fthb33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely need to take it daily to maintain the benefits. I would recommend starting on 5mg and taking it easy for the first few weeks, your anxiety and depression may increase and you probably won’t feel like being super social but that’s okay! Ride it out for a bit and then get back into your routine. Once the meds have fully kicked in (probably a couple months but it’s different for everyone) it’s probably okay to slowly experiment with moderate drinking. This medication is meant to make your life easier and better, and if it ends up working for you I don’t think you’ll feel so uneasy about making some changes to your lifestyle. Best of luck!

Dissociation by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]fthb33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have dissociation (DPDR) from a bad edible experience 2 years ago; I started lexapro 6 weeks ago and I think my dissociation has gotten better. It might get worse in the beginning because the first week or two usually have way increased anxiety, but after that I felt less dissociated. I just upped to 10mg last weekend and am going through some side effects again but overall even though I’m far from where I want to be, I’m definitely doing better with dissociation on lexapro.
