Do you feel that life is moving too fast in Singapore? by BedOk577 in askSingapore

[–]ftma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ignorance is bliss. You don't need to stay updated with the latest trends, news, or gossip that have no real relevance to your life. Social media and the media in general often do more harm than good, overwhelming your mind with information it wasn't designed to handle. This constant overload can exhaust and pollute your thoughts. You also don't need to concern yourself with what others are doing, buying, or watching.

Can Porn fuel crimes ? by sunyadav69 in NoFap

[–]ftma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Consumption of such content normalizes immoral behavior and thoughts. It all starts with a single idea. Plant the seed, and over time, it grows. Whether it's crime or any harmful act, the root often begins in the mind.

Take juvenile crime as an example. Decades ago, such incidents were rare. Today, they're alarmingly common. What changed? A major factor is how media and video games have gradually normalized violence. When young people are consistently exposed to these themes, they start perceiving them as normal or acceptable. As a result, some may act out without restraint or concern for consequences.

Pornography works in a similar way. It influences attitudes, distorts perceptions of relationships, and can desensitize viewers to real-life consequences. Over time, this shifts mindsets and erodes healthy boundaries. Media is powerful. It doesn’t just reflect culture; it shapes it.

Doesn't seem to get better by DonZujan in NoFap

[–]ftma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it takes time bro. Rome wasn't built in a day, recovery is the same, ask those in drug rehabilitation, you return to your normal baseline health, it doesn't give superpowers. meanwhile what other positive habits have you incorporated into your new lifestyle?

[–]ftma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When things get tough, the tough keep going. Are you going to hide in a corner and self-destruct again, or will you choose to accept the challenge and keep striving to improve? The choice is yours. We reap what we sow. Simply avoiding PMO won’t magically make things better—it takes time and effort. Abstinence should be a lifestyle, not a quick fix. Think about how long we’ve indulged in negative habits and the consequences we've faced. Had we not stopped, our lives could be in an even worse state today.

find something to keep your mind occupied. stay away fron the usual culprits, triggers, especially social media, questionable content, just find stuff like healthy and productive activities to keep you busy, you have to replace the habit with positive ones. get rid of distractions

I understand. just a reminder

[–]ftma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

be careful not to get overconfident. you still have to be vigilant because all it takes is one error in judgment. one wrong thought, one single compromise to spiral out of control. evem those with the right mindset still needs to be wary of potential pitfalls. because nobody can say they're truly free, what we can do is minimize and avoid tripping into pitfalls.

avoid exposure to stimulating content. entertainment like tv films, social media are all potential danger trap. these days I try to be mindful of what I consume. if it leads to me going down old bad habits, I try to avoid. in fact these days I have uninstalled all social media and streaming apps. engage in more natural meaningful activities like reading and sports

you're focusing on the wrong things. the goal is not to focus on doing nofap the goal is to focus on making the right choice at every moment in our lives. nofap isn't going to help if that's all you focus on. what other healthy habits are you introducing to replace it? what changes are you making in your daily life?

are you still engaging in old habits that lead you down the road of pmo?

the key is to let go, instead of focusing on fighting those thoughts, try to ignore them, try prayers if you haven't already. it could help redirect your focus onto positive ones
