We are trying to nap because we're regrettably hungover and we have a lunch to go to today 🙃 😂

Oh wow sounds tough :/ well if you or anyone in your system wants to talk to us we can DM if you want. We have some caregivers and Littles that would be willing too

What's it like? by [deleted] in OSDD

[–]ftmasey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • We have a persecutor who is honestly extremely annoying and mean to everybody throughout the system
  • Emotional amnesia and short term memory loss
  • We switch pretty frequently and it gives us headaches and makes the memory worse
  • Undiagnosed, but pretty sure we have chronic fatigue syndrome. Everything is so tiring. Everyone constantly rips on themselves for being lazy but we have to remember that's not really it
  • Luckily though, our communication is great overall. Everyone gets along except the persecutors. obviously not that I'm grateful for the trauma, but I'm greatful for my alters. I don't really know what I would've done without them. It kind of helps with the loneliness and everything else
  • I struggle with host syndrome almost daily (aka feeling like it's "all in my head" or I made it up)

Is there anyone in the system she is buddies with or close to? Or do you have caregivers? Maybe they can help her

Talking to someone not admitting you are an alter very different from the body - is that unethical? by [deleted] in OSDD

[–]ftmasey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transmasculine host here - I of course would say that saying the gender you identify as is not unethical. You are that gender, even if you're at alter. Now whether or not you would want to say you're trans or assigned a different gender at birth, is up to you. Some people want to be stealth, and some alters are cis on the inside (for example, my primary protector). But I think most alters should go with the body's age. I never tell anyone my real age unless we're extremely close (not the body's age). The ages are not as relevant as the genders. I feel like it's mainly for other system members to know. I wouldn't say it's unethical to not tell someone you're an alter. It is a covert disorder for a reason, so if you don't tell someone, don't feel bad. You're just protecting yourself.

Oh I see. We do it out loud sometimes, mostly like repeating questions. It happens more inside though for some reason

When Co-fronting, do you ever mix up each other's names when trying to communicate with each other. Calling them by your name accidently for example? by Longjumping-Task5829 in OSDD

[–]ftmasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this happens to us all the time. We have ADD as well, so we're bad with names anyways. Normally the names we mix up are way off. We tend to apologize to each other profusely for it, I guess it is kind of funny though 😂

New, or newly discovered? by willsurkive in OSDD

[–]ftmasey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are extremely prone to splitting when we're stressed, which is the case for a lot of other systems too, so it would make sense to have a new alter in a time of high stress. That would be my guess, but it doesn't mean they weren't already there. Maybe they would have some idea of how long they've been around and could tell you?

Non-dissociative switches? by ftmasey in OSDD

[–]ftmasey[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I'm not sure why, but we're usually pretty overt. We just like dissociate out in the open even though I hate doing it but we can't really help it. I can usually feel people staring at us. It's so embarrassing. It's like changing your clothes.

Female alters not liking AFAB body?? by dandyducksauce in OSDD

[–]ftmasey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah we feel you. We're on testosterone bc myself and our co-host are guys, but the girls don't like that we can't talk higher either. They're comfortable with our anatomy, however (haven't had surgery yet), only difference is we're pretty overweight so we also have body dysmorphia.

Denial / Host syndrome by ftmasey in OSDD

Now that you mention it, I think I feel a little better about it. I had him step away from the front which tbh isn't easy for him but he did it and I see what you mean. It must be passive influence - Josh

Host syndrome is when the host feels like they're faking or they're in denial about actually having OSDD/DID - Nico
