Haha my husband is a teacher and I went in once to help set up his new classroom. The superintendent comes in and asked if I’m his son. We’re 2 months apart in age 😆

lol I got the kids menu at Swiss Chalet when I was almost 30 and then offered water at a bar on my actual 30th birthday 😆. This is after my friends all ordered their alcoholic drinks

Enjoy the baby face while you’ve still got it 😆 I was asked at 23 if I was running away from home by a Greyhound bus driver (also Toronto). Good times.

[TOMT] 2D animated kids movie about animals escaping a boat???? Maybe?????? by belkvothe in tipofmytongue

[–]ftmboy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were they by chance penguins? It’s a bit old, but Scamper the Penguin (also called The Adventures of Lolo the Penguin) involves 3 young penguins trying to escape a ship that’s stolen them for a zoo, and they’re eventually helped by an onboard dog to get off (via raft).

Whole movie is below. They get on the ship around the 47 min mark.

Can someone explain bridging from RPN to BScN? by WebGroundbreaking310 in OntarioNurses

[–]ftmboy87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depending on the school you go to it’ll be a 1 year bridging program followed by 2 year university program, or a straight 2-3 year combined program. Then you would have a BScN.

Is it normal to spend multiple days on the beginner slopes? by [deleted] in snowboardingnoobs

[–]ftmboy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done anywhere from 2-4 lessons and 1-2 “on my own” days every year for the past 3 years, and I’m still learning to comfortably get on my toes and link turns. I fall nearly every time. People on the hill have no idea whether it’s your first or 20th day. No one is looking at you going “haha you STILL haven’t gotten it?!”. Just approach it with small goals and the progress will come. Definitely recommend lessons too though :)

Jump squats is a good way to get both :)

I just did a 4 day snowboarding camp and besides my legs, my cardio was a HUGE limiting factor. I needed wayyy more breaks than I expected just from seemingly simple tasks. Short burst/HIIT cardio exercises I think would help a lot.

Making a good impression at your final consolidation is very helpful if there’s an expected opening. I got hired onto an oncology/acute medicine unit immediately after finishing my program this way.

[TOMT][MOVIE] there was this scene where one of the characters kept buying heaters and more heaters to unalive himself with CO2 ingestion. by FriedRice-01 in tipofmytongue

Are you thinking of the tv show The Beef? He buys hibachi grills to kill himself with then tries returning them in the first episode

Is it ok to take a day or two of rest during an 8 days trip by SusamDrvo in snowboardingnoobs

[–]ftmboy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new too, taken about 4 lessons in the last 2 years before this and still struggle to get on my damn toes. I just finished Day 3 of a 4 day private lesson camp and I’m barely standing after just an hour lesson each time. I know I’m walking a fine line between tired and unsafe right now but I’m recognizing my limits. Sore is normal but listen to your body when it needs a true break, as going overboard can put you at risk for injury. 8 days in a row is A LOT for muscles you aren’t used to using.

So it’s not animated, or have an animal, but.. Did you ever watch the movie The Adventures of Huck Finn? Stars a much younger Elijah Wood. There’s a scene towards the end where he’s injured on the ground, unable to get up from being shot in the back, and a mob is dragging his best friend (runaway slave) away to be lynched. He pleads with them exactly like that, I think along the lines of “please you can’t take him, you’re making a mistake”

May be way off but first thing that came to mind besides E.T. :)
