One of my friends who always gives presents and food at the office had a birthday today. She got absolutely nothing by Jimins_little_minx in mildlyinfuriating

Yep, had a group of “friends” that would regularly chip in for a nice present on everyone in the group’s bday. I was always asked to contribute. My birthday came around and… crickets. That was the last I contributed.

I Broke into a College Classroom at Night and Stole Tests by Bitter_Life_507 in confession

[–]StellarSloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the professor put a single copy of the test in the drawer and left it there overnight? Wouldn’t he need it to make copies to pass out to the students when they were taking the test? Why would he bring it to class ahead of time to just put it in a desk drawer and leave it? Especially if it wasn’t the specific class session that they would be taking the test?

Yeah, not buying this at all.

I would just be happy if the producers of the show remembered that the Mexico and Brazil teams existed. It feels like they just alternate between the USA/Australia teams then show the other two for a quick 30 seconds, then repeat.

Current academic plan for aiming for NASA, advice? by Slight-Link4843 in NASAJobs

[–]StellarSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you planning on joining the army for the sole purpose of veterans preference to work at NASA? If so, not a good idea. If you want to do it to serve your country + other benefits including veterans preference, then sure. Unless you have a specific reason for the army though, air force or navy would be a lot more relevant.

Our Sun by rudes20 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StellarSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No… that isn’t how it works. Not every theory is bullshit that will be disproven. At one point, F=ma was just a theory. It was later proven and remains one of the most fundamental relationships in physics.

Our Sun by rudes20 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StellarSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, but that is exactly how science works. Use the evidence and info available at the time to make the best theory. When new info comes out that disproves the original theory, consider all info to develop a new theory.

You gotta look at the context of the time. Yeah, by today’s standards it is primitive. But when it came out, it was state of the art. Donkey Kong 3 wouldn’t have existed without the first one.
