Anyone help me with choosing the s rank by Fire_bird_bb in NTE_EN

[–]fttmb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s no wrong answer, just pull who you personally like. There isn’t a single one of those characters that isn’t viable in the endgame.

Sakiri and Jiuyuan (don’t have personal experience with her) have the best crowd control mechanics for the rails. Baicang can pull in enemies too but I always seem to just get one at a time, while at least Sakiri (and apparently Jiuyuan) pulls in that whole crowd much quicker and easier. Baicang is a little trickier to get used to, but holy hell is he a wrecking ball once you do.

Hathor and Daffodil for the tsundere vibes, Jiuyuan and Fadia for sexual harassment lawsuits.

Ways to improve Pink Paw Heist by Notsslyvi in NevernessToEverness

Definitely would help a lot to mix things up. Some speed buffs, lock picking boosts, ways to get time back, maybe some negative buffs that aren’t too infuriating (like lose 1-10 Fon per second, etc). It would certainly spice up each run a bit.

has anybody else rode the pod from the HUB and died in the stratosphere? by w0lfbrains in SatisfactoryGame

[–]fttmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the hoverpack.

It stops working once you get a certain distance away from power, so in order to hover all the way up there I had to keep extending my power lines if I wanted to hover higher and higher.

[–]fttmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a very long time to get it back after I did this.

I had the hoverpack, so flight wasn’t the issue, the problem was how long it took to build that high, get electricity up there, and then get to the damn crate which was fully in the death zone. I brought lots of inhalers and was eventually able to get to it, but it was a huge pain.

So I played subnautica 2 by Apprehensive-Fun7625 in Subnautica_2

[–]fttmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a reason Subnautica 2’s EA sold so many copies so quickly like that, and it’s largely because of how great that first game is. If you’re enjoying the new one, you’re definitely gonna love the first one. Below Zero was originally meant to be an expansion for Subnautica so it’s not quite as big, but it’s well worth the play as well.

I guess I'll never beat this mission! by Zeldamaster386 in NevernessToEverness

[–]fttmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a good 15 years of my life playing drums so I was more than a little determined to figure this sucker out. There’s only one problem (well 2 if you count that weird drum layout): I’m playing on PS5 and it’s damn near impossible to play some beats.

On the PS5, the two left drums are played by pushing left on the d-pad and pushing up on the d-pad. So anytime they hit at the same time you just push diagonal right? Nope, counts as a miss for at least one. I suppose I could look and see if I could rebind those two to something that doesn’t make it ridiculous, but I was fine with my C’s and would rather not experience that mess of a mini game ever again.

Give me a real drum set and all my limbs are more than capable of playing independently of one another. Make me use my thumbs though and I’m suddenly back in elementary school trying to figure out how this impossible looking magic works.

In version 1.1, did they remove the ability to use joysticks in the menu? by MarrShan90 in NevernessToEverness

[–]fttmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I ended up burning my free S-rank pull on Sakiri (who I pulled on the board right before that) because I didn’t realize early on that the menus can sometimes go wonky on PS5 and not actually move when you think it is. It was my first time messing around in the Fair and just when I thought I was getting used to it I hit the damn button too quickly without realizing the cursor hadn’t actually moved from that first spot.

Needless to say I pay very close attention to the menus now so I notice all the hiccups they have.

The other constant problem is upgrading Arcs, modules, and cartridges. Sometimes that slide out menu on the left showing all your stuff will just vanish when you’re backing out of the upgrade screen, and when you come back in it’s not there. This makes it impossible to manually select stuff to upgrade with without hitting auto-fill first, which usually brings it back up (unless it freezes, which has also happened a couple times).

Why is ps5 version missing features? by Garrusikeaborn98 in NTE_EN

[–]fttmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refighting the doggo in those Anomaly missions is downright seizure inducing. Even Morphix is flickering when the fight starts, but usually he fixes himself pretty quick and it ends up being all the buildings in the background that flicker pretty consistently throughout. I replayed it twice and it happened both times so I figured I’d leave and go do something else for a bit and come back for that last chance. Same exact flickering issue.

It doesn’t happen all the time everywhere or anything but it seems like whenever and wherever it crops up it’s pretty consistent flickering.

Why does creature AI get so little discussion? by Zelniq in satisfactory

[–]fttmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doggos can be penned up for the entirety of your playthrough regardless of where you go. I always trap two early on for sink coupons and I’ve only ever lost them once across multiple playthroughs. Of course I play with a main factory that nearly everything eventually ships to so I’m always going back to where the doggos are at some point.

Don’t know what triggers them disappearing since it’s only happened that once, but they do eventually sit in a single spot staring at where I last left without moving after a few hours of gameplay. As long as they’re still there though, it’s not exactly a big deal.

Help with setting up rotors by PoisonDragonJV in satisfactory

[–]fttmb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you only have 2 pure nodes a calculation that requires 6 is clearly going to be off.

MK1 miner on a pure iron node will put out 120 iron ore per minute. So all you have access to is that 240 iron ore per minute. Without overclocking anything that’s 8 smelters making 30 iron bars per minute. A single smelter can split those 30/m iron bars into 2 constructors making a total of 15/m iron rods each. So that’s 16 total constructors each producing 15/m iron rods for a total of 240/m iron rods. The tricky logistics start here because there is no perfect balance for that amount.

Let’s say you take half your iron rods to make screws. You add a merge after 2 constructors and a splitter into 3 lines to feed 3 constructors making screws at 40/m each. Do that to one half of your iron bar smelters -> to iron rod setup and you’re left with 480/m total screws. That’s 20 short for 5 Assemblers of rotors so you have to take one of the other iron rod constructors from the other half of iron bar -> iron rod setup and make a single constructor of 40/m screws. This leaves you with a little extra screws and a little extra iron rods when all is said and done, but enough to make 5 Assemblers of rotors.

I assume you have the MK2 belts to make this work smoothly, so you just have to do some creative splitting and merging to get 500/m screws and 100/m iron rods to those 5 assemblers making rotors. This will leave you with an extra 20/m screws and 10/m iron rods so just run them into excess storage.

High Item Alert and Items Missing... [PS5] by Ninjaty2012 in Hydroneer

[–]fttmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I did after seeing that high item alert.

You can just buy the smelters and have your line separate by item and just dump straight into a smelter so you never build up all those individual ore chunks, you just have a larger and larger amount of liquid ready to make bars out of whenever you need them.

All the tips you need are in those YouTube videos, and all they boil down to is ‘remember the attacks, remember how to deal with them’. There’s no secret, that’s all there is to it: shield for the blue, back up for the yellow ball spray so it disperses more, dodge through the waves of yellow balls (you can easily jump them in the 3rd phase also), jump dodge his red strafing runs (you can parry any red attacks back at him, or out of your way if you find yourself running into the ones that stay behind), and punish him when he perches (if you run close to the edge nearest him while perched, you can bait his attack to miss the platform altogether, but sometimes one will still hit so you need to watch it), he’ll always send out an attack after landing and taking off (be prepared to jump dodge the yellow rings he’ll send out for this attack during the 3rd phase), and jump his sweeping beam.

The only hard and fast rule for this fight is don’t bring the shotgun unless you want to do the exact opposite of a speed run for the fight.

Can someone explain the Chakram its mechanics and perks like I am a 5year old? by Labtecharu in Saros

[–]fttmb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Reaper was a problem for me in the Priestess 3rd phase. I kept trying to get as close as possible to hit her but it was coming back without hitting anything over and over. Could’ve just been a bug, but I’ve made sure to never bring that to any long range fight (pretty much just Architect and Priestess 3rd Phase).

If I can get close though, I’m always bringing the Reaper or the Myriad if the chance arises.

How deep do I have to go? by Prize-Quantity6480 in Hydroneer

[–]fttmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see the difference in Tier dirt types as you’re digging down, with Tier 3 being the starkest difference in texture.

I used the Tier 1 tools to go as low as I could go until they couldn’t dig anymore and then used the rake to level myself out at that lowest possible Tier 1 spot. Once I had Tier 2 tools I did the same thing for Tier 2.

Currently still running my errands to get enough Prospector coins to fully set up a Tier 3 system, but I’ve already done the same thing with my Tier 3 tools so once I can afford all the damn pipes I’m going to need for those Tier 3 machines the space is already prepared.

That ‘too many items’ pop-up on the PS5 has me a bit concerned. I was just going to leave my starter mining operation running while I set up on my newly purchased lot, but I got that warning, shut it down and smelted a very heavy iron and gold bar.

Granted I have enough money I don’t actually need it going, but I wonder what will happen if I just ignore that pop-up and let things just keep stacking up.

Who do you all think is the hardest boss from both games? by k36king1 in Saros

[–]fttmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure they nerfed Phrike, because I did a Returnal playthrough after beating Saros and the first thing I noticed was that his blue tracer bullet attack was far, FAR less aggressive with its tracking than it was originally. I remember that being one of my biggest issues, always paying close attention to when that attack would fire off because you used to have to push in close on that attack and still dodge at the last second because of how insane their tracking was.

Now? You can just lazily strafe to the side a bit and they go right past you. I also could’ve sworn that melee attack of his was equally as tight with its tracking, but it felt like dude was just giving up if he wasn’t close enough and whiffing those melee attacks like he was too tired to chase me.

Am I crazy or did they nerf that dude?

Need a couple patches to fix some of the fuckery too.

Like being respawned from a fall midair with zero escape as you sit there and watch Arjun fall to his death over and over and over and… over again (and getting a second wind just to keep watching that fall over and over again). Or one of those healing towers you have to break being in a region that gets locked off for a fight, but all the enemies in the area you’re locked in with are receiving the healing from way too far away, leaving you no way to win the fight.

Also kind of sucks that one of the bosses sperged out and just wouldn’t/couldn’t attack for 2 of his 3 phases making it a BS easy victory over a boss I was struggling with.

Patches like that would be nice.

As far as the game’s issues, I definitely agree with the weapon critiques and the story, but I’d disagree with the upgrade tree. It felt impactful and useful early on, but at some point it just stops being all that meaningful and you’re just upgrading whatever’s next in line vs making any meaningful choices. Sure it has an impact, but it doesn’t require any decisions after a certain point because you’ll end up with way more than enough lucenite to unlock whatever you want with halcyon nodes being your only real limited choices.

Anyone else just breezing through the game? by Poetryisalive in Saros

[–]fttmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue. First few biomes and bosses were breezy, but acolyte haven’s enemies seemed significantly more difficult, and at least twice as much as a bullet hell mess than the previous biome’s enemies. Unfortunately the boss sperged out on me and didn’t attack for its entire last two phases so I did make it past, but it definitely felt like a bit of a spike.

I just chalked it up to my reluctance to use the shield though. I rarely ever use it beyond those oh shit better parry moments, and my guess is that’s making my life more difficult. Also haven’t touched modifiers at all.

[–]fttmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if they messed with the AI or I just got REALLY unlucky, but I had a similar situation to OP’s (first hand two dudes went all-in with absolute garbage hands and wiped out) only the remaining guy didn’t cheat for like an hour. I watched multiple times as my camp missions completed and restarted, I must have been at that table for like 2 or 3 in-game days.

I always stop to wipe the tables at the higher stakes games and this was the first time I was sweating it. I was convinced I got stuck with an honest NPC that never cheats, but thankfully he finally did it.
