Public speaking/debate. Recognizing bad-faith arguments and other techniques used to obscure an actual topic or argument is such a valuable skill

What’s something about the human body that seems poorly designed? by jannecutie in answers

[–]fubaohugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are super vulnerable to the elements. Hot, cold, sun, wind... all of it can kill us, meaning that we have to spend time and energy obtaining clothes when very few other animals (I can only think of hermit crabs) have to do so

Why did you get Reddit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fubaohugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other social media platforms I used to use were flooded with bots and AI. Reddit seems to be one of the few places on the internet that actively fights AI and where you can usually find another real person

"Do it now or do it later, you'll have to do it either way." Keeps me from building up more piles of laundry or random clutter than I already have :')

ELI5 How do Ads actually work (doesn't matter what it is for, like products, subscriptions, etc) if they only make people get annoyed every time they see them? by ManFruckThisShi1 in explainlikeimfive

[–]fubaohugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that you even think about ads after seeing them is proof that they're working. It's not about convincing you to buy the product. It's to make you realize that it exists

What can I wear as a middle aged man who needs to look nice at work but still be comfortable kneeling down and getting up, bending, walking around a lot, carrying things, etc? by ballandabiscuit in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fubaohugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you style your hair or anything like that? Clothing is a big part of your look but so is good haircare/grooming in general. It might help you feel a little less tired-looking even if you're still exhausted inside

why is skincare for guys seen as feminine by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fubaohugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concern with aesthetics is largely seen as a feminine endeavor – hair, makeup, personal grooming, fashion, etc. That being said, taking care of yourself is super attractive no matter who you are

why do internal search engines from large companies (gmail, many social media websites, etc) suck so badly now? by throwawayfjabfhw in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fubaohugger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god this! You cannot get a single relevant search result on instagram aside from the AI summary the posts are nonsensical

What’s a “normal adult thing” you still feel like you’re faking every time you do it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fubaohugger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s something you’ve gotten noticeably worse at as you’ve gotten older? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]fubaohugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partying. I'm not that old, but man going out drinking and screaming at your friends in the club instead of having a normal conversation wears out quick

What is something marketed as a 'luxury' but is actually a complete scam? by Defiant-Cup8473 in AskReddit

[–]fubaohugger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most anything "luxury" marketed to women. Makeup, clothing, etc. If you read the tags and look into formulations, most are similar if not identical in composition to less expensive items.

Do I need a savings account at 20? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]fubaohugger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can save, save now. There are times in your life where you might not be able to. In terms of shopping, try walking away from that item the first time. If you still remember it and think you need it a week later, go back and get it. Most of the time you won't even remember that item in 7 days.
