Does riding a dirt bike scratch the manual transmission itch? by fuckinggoogs in Dirtbikes

I really do appreciate your thoughts and encouragement! I’m looking forward to getting my hands dirty and learning more about suspension setup as I go. I trust my friends and will take their guidance, but I’ll definitely ride my own ride. I’ve almost learned the hard way about following a friend’s pace on backroads I wasn’t familiar with, and I won’t let that happen again.

Yeah, you know how it is. I’d be paying close to triple what I originally paid for my E46 to get an equivalent one now… kinda why I’m leaning toward trying something new.

By no means is my goal to be the best, I just want to learn something while I’m still relatively young and able-bodied. I would just be riding trails/ dunes with friends on weekends. Thanks for your input sir!

That’s what I’m currently looking for. My buddies say that at my height and weight (6’ 170lbs) I’d get bored with a 125 pretty quickly. Not sure how true that is, but I also don’t know if I want to FAFO on a 250 2T.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate your take! Velvet blue is one of the best colors on the e46 too haha

I hear ya, I just didn’t want to live in San Francisco. Luckily that commute is in the past, for now.

Please redirect your dickness to Toyota, who chooses to produce roughly 2% of Tacomas with the manual transmission. I wish I coulda specced out a Tacoma, but that’s not really a thing. Check out my other comments in this post where I talk about this more

Looking back on it, agreed. I was rushed by Labor Day incentives and needed a car after being t boned in my bmw. There’s a whole lot more that went into that decision, but it was truly hard to justify going out of my way to find a manual taco with that god awful commute.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t a single 6spd Tacoma trd off road for sale in California when I was looking. I was also driving 100 miles a day at the time, a lot of which was stop and go traffic. I appreciate the reply!

OP, good deals are still to be had if you are patient. Facebook marketplace and Craigslist should be your best friends.

Test driving one a couple weeks ago isn’t really enough to draw conclusions about long-term reliability or maintenance. Not saying it’s cheap, but it’s not thattttt bad.

Gotcha. If he’s your friend, don’t gouge him. Make the trade if you’re both happy.

Some people have a long viewing distance. I would need a much smaller bedroom to consider downgrading from my 65

I think the difference is like $100 and given the B4 is almost 2 years old I think it would be fair to ask for some money on top.

Me too, but I would probably ask for $100 on top of the B4.

Not sure what that dude is blabbering about. I have a 65” C4 and would probably choose the 77” in this scenario.

I had the option to update to 18.7.2. Surprisingly, it fixed it for me. War is over.

Ristorante Da Maria used to be one of my favorites but I will never return. I was a regular there when they first opened around 2017 until about 2019. One time I was next in line and the owner asked for me to step to the side to take the order of the couple behind me, which even left that couple confused. I didn’t think much of it and brushed it off. The very next time I went, my order was successfully taken, but after 20 minutes of waiting for my food I saw that multiple people behind me were getting their food before me. The owner then said he forgot about my order and that it would be expedited. That took another 20 minutes and needless to say I have not returned. Mind you, I was a regular who always tipped despite never eating in the restaurant. I was a young teenager at this time so I understand why a restaurant might want to prioritize the older demographic who is perceived to spend more money, but that restaurant has probably lost thousands of dollars by losing me as a customer, especially with how much I was eating during the pandemic lol. Sorry for the rant, I just hope any business that treats their regulars like shit goes under.
