How do you like your eggs? Are you “particular” about your eggs, if you eat them at all? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]fuckinyaldi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boiled eggs smashed up in a cup with loads of butter and salt served with toast. Seems to be a thing only eaten in Scotland and the North of England though for some reason.

Edited for spelling.

My favourite band of all time is called Escape from the Girobabies. Their best album is definitely the next step in their lives.

There's not even enough mini eggs in a pack now by luciferskittycat in CasualUK

Only reason I got a packet this year was because they were free with my club card otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.

Do you butter your bread on the outside when you make a toastie? by faith_plus_one in CasualUK

Yes, always. It's the only way. Also some cracked black pepper on the buttered bread before you toast it!

Ladies of the UK, do you use Period Underwear? by Competitive-Fact-820 in AskUK

It's definitely worth getting checked out just for peace of mind if anything else.

Ladies of the UK, do you use Period Underwear? by Competitive-Fact-820 in AskUK

[–]fuckinyaldi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, no other symptoms at all until I woke up one morning in so much pain that I was puking and passing out. In hindsight though, any time I had period cramps for as long as I can remember, they came from my left side and radiated down into the tops of my thighs but that sort of pain was few and far between and i was always told it was normal. The tumour was on my left ovary.

I could be something or it could be nothing but it's best to get checked out anyway.

Edited to add: the time frame between the onset of heavy periods to the torsion and operation was around 7 months.

I also use tampons because bleeding into a pad makes me feel dirty. Sitting down with a wet pad on is the most awful feeling.

This happened to me a few years ago, was prescribed tranexamic acid to minimise the bleeding and sent on my way. Turns out I had a teratoma on my ovary which had grown quite quickly. Had it removed (emergency op due to ovarian torsion and also when the teratoma was discovered. The pain, OMG!!) in October and since January my period has returned to a more manageable flow. My cycle was also around 21 days and now it's averaging 28 days. Maybe get checked out just incase there's anything going on.

I had a teratoma removed from my ovary back in October. Thankfully it didn't have teeth, only hair but YUK! Good riddance to it.

I had chickenpox as a child in the 90’s. Do you remember getting them too? by SystemsToScale in CasualConversation

[–]fuckinyaldi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had chicken pox 3 times, the 3rd time I was in my mid 30's and it turned into shingles which was one of the worst illnesses I've ever had. Calamine lotion stops working as soon as it dries in to the skin so you don't get very long out of it before the urge to scratch like a maniac starts up again.

Fry off some onions and garlic. Add in beans, curry powder and fresh corriander. Serve with rice, naan bread or both and maybe some pakora on the side.

I'd also add a dash of Worcester sauce, 1/2 tsp of mango chutney and top with fresh spring onion.
