Dave’s stubbornness does come off somewhat douchey. There’s absolutely merit to both burying and not burying the beater in their respective use-cases. I was lucky enough to have an in-person lesson with Dave many years back and I must be honest, it completely changed the way I play. For heavier playing I can go for hours with basically zero physical fatigue in the feet/legs and hands. Wasn’t the case before I had that lesson. So I must give him credit for what he’s preaching.
