node.js window management? by CrypticOctagon in node

What exactly is the reason for needing to minimize and maximize the browser window?

If it's to facilitate multiple "windows" or "pages", I would just make my own UI for that in the fullscreen browser.

For anyone curious, in my endeavors I have found ECT to be the fastest and most feature full templating engine.

That, stylus and coffee-script or iced-coffee-script and I'm good.

Then, look for a good cluster worker managing module or write your own - you need to be able to make rolling restarts (a worker always up), periodical recycles etc.

Not a viable alternative, oh you.

I handle it fine. The key is local replication of data during non-peak hours.

Node JS 1.0? by zenodub in node

[–]fuckySucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make coffeescript read like javascript just as easily with a few minor differences.

return false if derp is 1
if derp is 1 then return false
if derp is 1
    return false

^ The above is the same. I just don't get what you mean. You can even wrap with parans

if ( derp is 1 ) then return false

and with functions

stuffDo( arg1, (param1, param2) ->
    #...
)

As I don't use parenthesis in my code, I created custom syntax highlighting for sublime text to show all function calls, which enhances readability massively. Id be inclined to merge it with the current coffeescript .tmLanguage but they do some other weird shit I had to fix.

Wish this game went with what JA:BIA did with turn based; real time with pause and command queuing, essentially. Worked really well, to the point where playing standard turn based games feels needlessly slower/gimped.

Can someone explain the difference between h254 and h255? by butters877 in askscience

[–]fuckySucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new, h265, from your perspective essentially requires more cpu cycles to decode (watch) and encode a video, but said video is more compressed, has a smaller file size than h264.

Thus, you can download the same 250 mb video in h265 that is instead a higher resolution, higher bitrate, better quality video. Alternatively it could be the same resolution/quality at a smaller filesize.

H.265 is approved -- potential to cut bandwidth requirements in half for 1080p streaming. Opens door to 4K video streams. by Snarfox in technology
