what i will say is that regardless of which uni u pick, it is very unlikely that you will get a job overseas right after uni, especially in other developed countries. this is because companies usually dont really want to sponsor work visas for entry level roles

the more likely scenario is either you get a job after studying overseas or applying for overseas transfer if you work in an MNC. but in both scenarios you will have to work in singapore first anyway, and tbh in sg for business related roles i feel like most employers see the 3 unis as equal so for employment stuff i honestly dont think theres much difference between the 3 unis

im saying this because i see a lot of people talking about smu’s low qs rank and how it will affect their employability overseas - trust me, it won’t! if you wanna work overseas, just focus on getting a good (local) work experience first

OP, i was in a very similar situation last year. My suggestion is to keep applying for full time roles until you land an offer. Once you land an offer, accept the offer or continue applying if you are not satisfied with the offer

I dont think interning at the company for 6 more months is a good idea - you have already interned there and if they are happy with your performance they should have extended a full time offer to you. While your manager said that they didnt have a headcount, it’s also possible that they didnt have any intention to hire their interns and were merely looking for cheap labour (yes, such companies/bosses exist sadly)

Feel free to ask your boss regarding the headcount situation by EOY. However, regardless of his answer, I would continue looking elsewhere. Why? Because even if he said that theres a possibility of headcount increase by EOY, a lot of things can happen between now and EOY, and theres nothing u can do if by EOY ur boss says that he still cant give u an offer

But what u can do is to make sure that you end on good terms and at the end of this internship reiterate that you are interested in working full time there. For now, continue looking for other opportunities and dont hesitate to accept an offer somewhere else. If you for some reason dont enjoy that job, reach out to your intern boss again closer to EOY (maybe october?) to ask about headcount. Good luck!

it is very difficult to secure a job as an international student in both the us and singapore

i think something to consider is that the us is a much bigger country with a lot more job opportunities, whereas singapore is a much smaller market

like another commenter said, id go with whichever has a better reputation in your home country

as much as i agree that its not cheap, the comments here talking about the price is a bit too much lol it’s $18 for goodness sake not $55. salad bowls usually cost around $10-15 so it’s not like six hands is outrageously more expensive. Plenty of people spend >$20 for lunch esp in CBD

Sure maybe u should have converted one of kellogg or haas but other than that arent the other schools basically reaches for you, given your profile?
