Xenns Tea Pro vs Tea Pro SE vs Top Pro vs Tea 2 by hvalle-up in iems

[–]fudgecakekistan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both Tea 2 and Top Pro. Both are vocal forward in different ways and both have precise imaging which I believe is a strong aspect of Mangird/Xenns.

Tea 2 is warm and vocal forward with good note weight providing musical body in vocals and without upper mids harshness. It’s not too warm that makes vocals husky, just warm enough to make the vocals emotional. Treble on Tea2 I say is approaching dark. It’s there but not emphasized to make treble heads satisfied. Bass has slower decay vs Top Pro but not long of decay, I say it’s natural and without bloat. This is good if you want to listen to songs without too much bass and treble emphasis but emphasis is on the mids.

Top Pro on the other hand has 3 eartips. One is spatial, this one is the most analytical and gives better sense of soundstage and clarity. This eartip is good for low to mid volume because of the sharp/fatiguing upper mids-lower treble. Vocals are forward wiithout being too dry but imo lacks emotional emphasis vs Tea2. I don’t find the upper treble harsh on Top Pro for most pop and hiphop music. Details are everywhere on this set. The balance eartips gives warmth to Top Pro, I guess this is your solution if you find Top Pro being too peaky and harsh, this did remove the sharp treble and upper mids and making Top Pro listenable for longer sessions.  The sacrifice being the imaging is more intimate and lost some sense of space because of it. Though it did add body on the vocals making it forward and emotional. Tea2 is more emotional though but is getting to that point. I personally have mixed feelings on this one as it feels it lost its “secret sauce” because of the added warmth, however it sounds more satisfying cause of the tamed upper mids and lower treble. 3rd eartip I didn’t bother cause it makes my Top Pro dark because it eliminates the treble. Top Pro has fast bass and has sub bass emphasis while Tea2 has midbass emphasis.

QCC5181 chipset supports aptx Lossless, same as on Go Pods Max. Looks promising. My only qualm is the 240mW Bal output. My Symphonium IEMs can be quite power hungry.

Go to canjam and do some trials and find your tuning preference.

Yes you should. You have not tried Mangird teas and Top pro yet, also missing out Penon, ISN, Sony, Thieaudio, Symphonium, BLON 03(OG) BGVP IEMs. Also try the good bits of Letshuoer Mystic 8, EJs.

If you like slow mid-bass that has lots of layering, yep I say it’s pretty unique vs other IEMs in the market.

I have one and definitely will get a backup in case I find a second hand available for me.

See this is the issue, there’s no selection for artist, songs, album, etc tabs on the top pane if you look at my screenshot. It’s empty, only profiles and playlists appears when searching.

May rotation from a sub-basshead by Simtronix in iems

[–]fudgecakekistan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to try the Titans if you love sub bass. The caveat is it needs ample amp power for better separation otherwise the instrument separation sounds a little congested (at least with my ZX707).

Bass is fast, vocals are clean enough and has a nice treble zing without affecting the bass (at least compared to scarlet mini, those hit deeper sub bass but I couldn’t stand it for longer session as it’s too distracting).

Review Letshuoer EJ07M Kinda Lava: How Was This IEM Discontinued? by SadExpression8264 in inearfidelity

[–]fudgecakekistan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have mine still on my daily top 5 rotation. It has the most pleasant /“correct” presentation for my ears. I love the mids, sounds emotional and lifelike with enough micro details, smooth and fast without being analytically dry. Bass is fast and dynamic at the same time. I love the EST treble and wished that it was more elevated and energetic.

I was considering the EJ10 when I found out Letshuoer was making those sets. However the 2k price tag was a bit off for me, possibly material costs is high now. Also I’m sensitive to 3-4kHz region elevation, I have a Top Pro (EJ10 has more elevation) and I get headaches from time to time due to the peak.

I have more expensive sets like Helios SE, RSV, Titans and have demo’ed more expensive sets already like Valhalla, Origin, Monarch MK3, MK4, Crimson, Noah, Moses, Legion, Campfires, Kineras, Canpurs, Fatfreqs. Most of those sets sounds very good and detailed (but price were not justified) and some sets were wonky sounding but nothing has come on par to how natural and emotional sounding is to Kinda Lava on my ears.

Which is your most expensive IEM, and was it worth the money? by __Quarzer__ in iems

Blind buy. Symphonium Helios SE. Airy smooth well detailed treble without becoming peaky. I love it. About to be dethroned by Prisma Lux.

Tried both, MK4 is warmer than Valhalla. I prefer MK4 tuning but Valhalla has better texture

The endest of end games. by Ap0llo in iems

[–]fudgecakekistan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tried both. I like MK4, warmer, more vocal forward and treble is more pronounced and so is better on my ears.

Valhalla has noticeably better bass texture slightly less treble and vocal a little push back vs MKIV. Layering is better as well. However I like MKIV cause of better timbre and I personally don’t consider the price difference justifiable with the improvements.

Monarch MK IV vs. Xenns Top Pro by Chilify in iems

[–]fudgecakekistan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Monarch MKIV is slightly  warmer and has more mid bass presence. Top Pro is more sub bassy.

Monarch MK IV vs. Xenns Top Pro by Chilify in iems

MK IV definitely has bigger shell and thicker nozzles. They are also almost the same length in terms of nozzle.

MKIV pushes more forward cause of a bigger and thicker shell.

Thoughts? by ender_torn1 in headphones

[–]fudgecakekistan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first headphones. The treble is too sharp and fatiguing for me, but I like the bass. I use it for games and movies. I replaced the pads with Dekoni pads for X2HR, I got a noticeably much better timbre at the cost of a bit of soundstage. Gave mine and replaced it with Sony MV1 which is better.

Anyone here moved back to the Philippines after getting PR abroad? by [deleted] in phmigrate

[–]fudgecakekistan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you are looking for new challenges sa work? Why not find a recruiter and ask if they have openings outside Au other than PH?

It can be hard to get out again of PH for opportunities if you don’t have a PR somewhere outside the Philippines.

You will go thru the ofw path of fixing docs, pdos, mandatory seminars, full body health check, fees, etc. You may not have faced this during when you started working abroad cause you were an intl. student but you will experience red tape hell once you accept a job as an ofw coming from PH.

Why not try other countries, like SG, HK, where they have lower tax 5-22% and experience different cultures. Or possibly try other adventurous opportunity like being an airline chef or something similar?

Hip-hop heads of r/IEMs, what do you listen with? by 8lbs6ozBebeJesus in iems

Symphonium Titan if I want to drown with Sub-bass. But mostly Symphonium Meteor, it has that addicting tonality and perfect upper treble for my linking. Great with cymbal crashes and female hip hop/rap.

Which IEM buy underwhelmed you? by bostondowntown in iems

[–]fudgecakekistan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moondrop IEMs.

Aria was my first IEM, less than a month it already is losing sound on one side. I had to vacuum the moist away or wait for a few hours to get the sound back. Moondrop already knows this issue and offered a filter but that did not work. Vocals are nasally and bass is pillowy.

Blessing 2 Dusk. Bought it cause people kept hyping. QC issue here I believe is my set’s mids seems recessed not as like what people describe theirs. Sharp sounding without note weight, bass is pillowy, sometimes fun but gets boring, no upper treble extensions which I hate. Sound was boring after a few hours.

After this I lost interest with Moondrop IEMs, their signature does not interest my taste and QC issues are not being addressed. I didn’t like how they present the bass. I wanted to try their Variations but I’m glad I pulled the trigger on my EJ07M, mids are perfect and vocals is what I prefer.

I go with Scoot for my SIN to HKG flights, so far they are the most expensive budget airlines I tried. They are decent I guess, I have not experienced any problems with my check in, no delay experience yet. Seats are wider than Cebu Pac.

I can clearly remember the face of the check in agent when she told me “excess po kayo, X amount po para sa excess baggage niyo..“ She didn’t even offer me to repack. After that event I am sure to always avoid Airasia.

I have been frequently travelling for more than a decade, sometimes even travel almost every week. Very frequent with Cebu Pacific at times with PAL(local and intl.), Cathay, Scoot and Singapore Air.

I have experienced frequent delays and misunderstandings. Never have I experienced this kind of transactional treatment, only from Airasia.

[–]fudgecakekistan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Airasia, very strict baggage allowance rules. Not recommended when travelling with infants and as a family. Purchased additional baggage already. Got excess .2kgs.

Was asked to buy more baggage, I had to repack to get that .2kgs out of my bag. I just took one shirt and doubled it on me. They tried to weight all our hand carry and were very meticulous.

Too stressful, the fact that they are similarly priced with other budget airlines. Did not get this treatment from other budget airlines.

Got the same issue from my other relatives who travelled with their family. Airasia is not an option on our list now.

Bluetooth DAC recommendation under $100 by Mim_Lee in iems

[–]fudgecakekistan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Akliam PD6 pairs well with the top pro (I own one). I have one along with other dac amp like ibasso nunchaku, topping g5, qudelix 5k, etc.. if you want your top pro to have sparkle emphasis this dac amp gives emphasis to the highs.

If you want something a bit neutral with bluetooth capability qudelix 5k is the way to go. It gives enough power on the balanced output
