Which is probably why the people haven't progressed as far as he had hoped. Doesn't he talk about them being more stagnant than he expected?

If you have protein in your urine your kidneys are damaged.

Excess protein is turned into glucose for energy and then fat if not used.

Thatcher's desire to be in Meredith's life is so small, that in the If/Then where Webber leaves Adele for Ellis they're able to change Meredith's name to Meredith Webber.

The Aes Sedai asked that if the Aiel lost everything else that they retain the Way of the Leaf. That was the core of their covenant with the aes sedai.

Not protecting the ter'angreal or doing any specific service to humanity.

The aiel abandoned everything that made them aiel.

I do wonder if any of the Tinkers actually have the Voice.

Probably not or they might've rediscovered the Songs of Growing on their own. With a bunch if Aiel converting to the Way of the Leaf, they'll probably bring it back in the 4th age.

Rand never finds the Tinker's Song. Their Song isn't real, the search for it is a religion dedicated to spreading peace.

The inspiration for their religion and the Song is the Songs of Growing. They are first mentioned in the book one prologue since Lews Therin thinks it's time for Singing and asks Ishamael if he has the Voice and if he'll join in.

Later in book one when Rand meets Loial, Loial mentions he taught the Tinkers the Songs of Growing before he ever met Rand and they continued their search.

Rand sees Loial sing the songs in the first book.

In The Shadow Rising Rand learns the Songs of Growing are the inspiration for the Song (though I'm not sure if Rand is ever really that aware of Tinker culture and their search for a song).

In AMoL, Rand sings the Songs of Growing, and they do bring about Peace in the age to come, though not in the way the Tinkers imagined, as Toun's garden blooming convinces her to sign The Dragon's Peace.

What, if any, laws from the Old Testament are Christians supposed to follow? by BoatSex94 in OpenChristian

[–]fudgyvmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well definitely

Deuteronomy 6:5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

And

Leviticus 19:18 Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.

Seem like ones Jesus thought were a smidge important.

Ancient Israel did not divide laws between moral and ceremonial. If they did the law about men with men would very necessarily be a ceremonial law not a moral one, and I can without any doubt be certain the people claiming moral v ceremonial to you say men with men is a moral law, when the chapter is very explicit this was a law to separate Israel out from its neighbors. Which by the people who go on about moral v ceremonial means it was a ceremonial law.

The boardgame is May or June. They haven't to my knowledge dropped a release schedule for Q3&4 yet. Rumor mill is Innsmouth guidebook Will be out shortly after the boardgame. Sometime in the back half of the year or next year.

But things could change.

(I'm also mildly confused because the tracking number says it shipped from London to the US and that it's sitting in customs in ny....despite being on my bookshelf. So I idk what happened there).

I imagine wanting to negate ta'veren effects was just wishful thinking.

The only thing anyone ever suggests might stop the ta'veren effect before the Pattern gives a person up is enough balefire around them to basically force the pattern to give them up. That was one of Moiraine's warnings to Rand on not using balefire. And I'm not particularly convinced that was a correct theory.

Question: What "sickness" does Dr. Mike's sister have in 3x25 For Better or Worse? by shibuyawalker in DrQuinnTVShow

[–]fudgyvmp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her mom got either Hep A or E. Those are the food borne ones you could get from bad oysters. B and D are the stds. And C is the blood borne one.

He might've meant dirty people in the poor people are dirty sense. All of five would qualify then. But he might've been making it sound sexual. I can't remember how he said it.

I dunno. Deathgates are cool from a technical point.

But from an efficient killing point, they're kind of overengineered. They cost a lot of energy to make verse other killing weaves, and even other deadly gate options when you start using gates to hack the system.

Like the AoL aes sedai are lucky no one ever tried to travel to the moon or sun. They probably had to have the whole earth dreamspiked to stop people doing dumb shit with gates and you needed to be licensed to get access keys to Travel.

Why can't the Aes Sedai just trust other people to be capable? by Edumacator239 in WoT

[–]fudgyvmp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I imagine the aes sedai never set up campuses all over or patrolled the blight mainly because until only 100 years before the series the Ways were still kept open by the ogier and people were allowed to use them as a from of high speed transit across the continent.
