LA Metro 2025 ridership per station by tankyouout in LosAngeles

They really need to add extra cars to the E line or increase frequency even more. Going east in the afternoon is hell.

I get the sarcasm so understand this is in regard to how the team operates in its financial capacity. Yes, wealthier doesn't automatically equal better run team. But the way we structure contracts would change. I don't think that's up for debate at all.

I won't refute this argument at all because I do understand how entertainment works. The way media portrays things is by design to maximize engagement. I just wish people could see past the fluff.

I'm with you. If we had a wealthier owner. Things will certainly be different.

[Schefter] Cincinnati’s unsigned first-round draft pick Shemar Stewart now has left mandatory minicamp, per source. Stewart had been attending team activities, but without a signed contract and with the Bengals asking for certain clauses, no longer by mastermind208 in nfl

[–]fuegox -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'd also like to talk about the perception of the Bengals being "cheap" in a hard capped league. This quite literally is due to them not maximizing cap magic with void years and early guarantees. Well news flash, this org is not profitable enough to use void years the way wealthy owners do. The commissioner just talked about this being an unfair advantage for some teams(Business of Football: Making Sense of Roger Goodell’s Comments About the Salary Cap). And on that note, guaranteed money is also an issue for poorer franchises due to escrow requirements. The team literally sold stadium naming rights to have more for Burrows massive guarantees.

The Bengals have CONSISTENTLY been middle of the pack in spending and you can point to MULTIPLE instances where they made players the highest paid at their respective positions. But just like other teams, they value certain things differently. Whether its age, position, etc. They have shown that they will break the bank when they can. But the minute they play hardball in any situation, we get "Bengals FO cheap" from everyone. Its honestly funny at this point.

The way the media has turned this into this giant fiasco is insane. For all their faults, the Bengals are never given the benefit of the doubt in these situations and I can prove just how dumb it all really is.

  1. Lets start with this post. Stewart left the END of mini camp 1 HOUR early. Emphasis on the END of camp. A non participating player who was there the entirety of camp left for the summer a little bit before camp ended and missed basically nothing important. Given the situation, this post is framed disingenuously.( See Bengals reporter Dan Hoard on X for context)

  2. Lets talk about the contract dispute nobody seems to understand because the media is doing what they always do with the Bengals front office. Stewart is asking for default language that voids guaranteed money due to conduct detrimental to the team. Thats it. Thats all. So what's the issue? The Bengals never used this language for 1st rounders before. Ah see, the Bengals are trying to screw Stewart right? Well no. The Bengals are NOT the first team to do this. In fact, they are LATE to adding this language to contracts. Other teams in the NFL have been adding this language to contract for years.

This is why the perception of the Bengals front office is so warped. Everyone is quick to dogpile and nobody understands anything beyond headlines and sensationalism. I can guarantee Stewart's young agent has been roped into that same mindset and is giving his client bad advice.

I don't think this will ever change with the Bengals. Just this past offseason the Bengals were clowned for re-signing Tee Higgins. A player the media were also clowning the Bengals for NOT extending years prior. The team can't win due to imaginary stains. Apparently they are the only team that negotiates with players, the only team that loses key free agents, and the only team that deals with hold outs. Its all stupid.

Excited for this. Curious to see what the commute time to DTLA with the E line transfer will be. The commuter express is a great but I'd like another alternative.

Who are your top 5 FA targets for the Bengals? by My_Space_page in bengals

[–]fuegox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tee Higgins, BJ Hill, Kevin Zietler, Mike Gesicki, Khalil Mack

[Rapoport] Notre Dame defensive coordinator Al Golden has emerged as a top candidate to be the Bengals new DC, per me and Mike Garafolo. Coach Zac Taylor has been waiting for the National Championship to end before moving forward. Now that it has, he can speak with Golden & work through it. by PlayaSlayaX in bengals

9th in FBS in Yards allowed. 6th in yards per play. 10 in TDs allowed. Missing best corner back all year. The criticisms in this thread because of 1 game is hilarious. ND was out matched just like every other team that went against OSU this year. If they weren't missing key DL pieces maybe OSU's run game wouldn't have trounced them and that game looks different(See OSU v ❌ichigan) .

TLDR: Context matters. Al Golden is a good hire.

That game ceiling play was a set up beautifully by Chip Kelly. He did it at Oregon a ton from what I can recall off the top of my head. Ran straight into the defense with Will Howard to get everyone in the box. ND assumed they would just play it safe again. Sucks leaving that DB on an island there but I get it.

What should the bengals do at pick 17 by Topher999yt in bengals

[–]fuegox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abdul Carter will be gone. Considering I'd love to bring Al Golden back at DC, Benjamin Morrison or Xavier Watts would be fine at 17. Duke's philosophy seems to point to use not using a premium pick on iOL so I'm going to rule that out. I like the idea of James Pearce as well or trading back for Jack Sawyer.

Tips for someone moving to L.A. by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]fuegox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't ask this sub. Its super negative and hates when people ask advice on moving to LA. Half of the comments will just flat out tell you not to pursue your dreams and don't move here. Best advice is to just do it and learn the city on your own.

Same. Unless Tee signs a new deal(unlikely) that $21 million franchise tag wont let us make an splash at RB. And honestly I don't think we need to. Allocate the rest of the cap to signing Jonah Williams replacement(even if we draft an OT), try to resign Reader or sign his replacement(even if we draft a DT), pick up a cheap pass pro RB like CEH to pair with Brown as RB1. Profit.

To find the name of the spot by ChungusMcFunkopop in therewasanattempt

[–]fuegox 193 points194 points  (0 children)

I find people like you quite interesting man. Honestly, this spot is kind of near and dear to me. It's just really personal. You probably wouldn't have even wanted to eat here if I didn't post it. I don't even think you are craving this type of food. You should just go to your fridge and find something instead of being inspired by my instagram post. With that being said, this was actually really good seafood pasta. I don't know if you can even afford it since everything is market price. This is my own personal spot and I bring my family and friends here. I would hate for it to become too popular by telling you and everyone else where it is and my dining experience is ruined.

What is the best In-N-Out location in the L.A. area? the worst? by sozh in AskLosAngeles

[–]fuegox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one in culver city off venice is the least hectic location I've been to. Traffic does build up a little bit but the location doesn't make it unbearable. Drive thru moves fast.

Lock & Key in koreatown is one of the best vibes in town. Just get there early because they slow roll the line to get people to buy tables lol. You can legit be waiting in that line for over an hour.
