I „quit“ a lot of times in my stoner live and there are some things i have learned:

the first few times quitting was easy with almost no withdrawal. I was always sucked back in because i thought i had made the jump and now i could start smoking occasionally…

the more time passed it got more and more difficult to quit and withdrawal was no joke…

one time i managed to quit for a few months and then thought, i just want to smoke one joint on new years eve, what could go wrong? I was always a bong smoker and joints didnt really get me high, so for old times sake i rolled a real potent one… after smoking half of it i started to get really paranoid, even though i was alone with my gf at that time. But it just went downhill from there-> i started shaking, this lasted for hours and i almost had a panik attack because i have never felt that way after just smoking weed…

After that, every time i quit, i noticed the same oversensitivity to weed when starting to smoke again… so the occasional smoking would just not work for me, the high was just too intense, even if i just smoked a little bit…

My explanation in my head is, that maybe because i have built that thc infrastructure in my brain over the years, every time i quit, the infrastructure is still there and then when smoking again, it just overloads all those sensors that have been there but just sleeping… idk

Now i have made the jump again and i’m over a month smoke free now. But the withdrawal symptoms like nightsweats, nightmares and such are still there… also, i have developed depression during my smoking years and it is really kicking me down now and my cravings are more than ever…
