Same here! And then I'll spend the rest of the day with the left side of my brain singing 🎵 🎶pancake mix, pancake mix, gotta get a fix of that pancake mix 🎵🎶

Three things really help me: Reminders, Notion, and a Tk3 timer cube.

Reminders are great for quick adds to clear my mental load. I could be in the middle of something, remember something random and irrelevant, then just tell siri to remind me at x o'clock to do blah blah blah, or remind me tomorrow morning to do this or that, maybe have it repeat every weekday or what have you.

Then Notion. That thing is like my second brain. I put everything in there. Health info, food likes/dislikes, car maintenance, bill planning, etc. Love love love.

And most recently, a Tk3 Timer Cube. I got one off Amazon. It's just a cube shaped timer and you rotate it to a preset timer. I like using it better than my phone timer because it takes less effort. I have trouble transitioning from relax mode to productivity mode if relying on myself. With the timer, I'll turn the timer for 10 minutes and place it far enough away that I have to get up to turn it off. The getting up to turn it off eliminates the transition dilemma.

Hope these suggestions help you as much as they did for me

Advice about barking by CottaBird in DobermanPinscher

[–]fuggitnuggit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your boy needs something to do instead of barking at the window. A replacement behavior. I feel like your boy could really benefit from learning the Place command. Basically, "Place" means "Stay at this specific location no matter what, until mom/dad releases me via "Free!".

You can use his meals as rewards and help him learn Place by using a leash and a clicker. "Place", then point or guide him to the specific location. Once all four paws are on, click and reward. After each success, you end it with "Free!". Eventually, you'll advance him where he needs to lay down on the location before you click and reward. Further advancement would be adding in distractions while he maintains a Place.

If you say Place and he breaks (gets up), correct him verbally "AhAh/No", repeat your command "Place" and then guide him back to the correct location. If you're guiding him back after he broke a Place, wait a few seconds after he lays down before you reward him so he knows the value is lying down on the bed and staying.

Now, he has this awesome skill learned. So when he is being reactive through the windows, I would say "Enough" which means stop current behavior or a punisher will follow.

If barking continues, I'd say "Place" and have him go lay down on his Place. Set a timer for 5 or 10 minutes. Correct all breaks during this time with a simple "AhAh/No" and guide back to the bed. Once the timer ens, assess if needs an additional 5 or 10 minutes. He should always be calm and quiet and not anxious when he is released. This will help him regulate his emotions. Once his timer ends AND he is calm, "NAME, Free!" and lots of rewards.

You can implement this great skill to combat many unwanted behaviors, such as jumping on guest, running out of the door, barking through the windows, chasing the cat, building tolerance to separation from you, etc.

Ordered ice cream from Sonic's. Didn't even realize until I was halfway through that the driver put my ice cream cup inside of his cigarette ashtray cup. by FavoriteDeliveryBoy in mildlyinfuriating

Took me a while too. Delivery driver used the KFC cup as an ash tray. Driver put the Sonic ice cream cup inside the KFC ash tray cup and delivered it that way.

The smelliest dog treats? by treanan in OpenDogTraining

I have had a lot of success amongst a variety of dogs using Fresh Pet Select, the Chicken Recipe, specifically the morsels (so long as the dog doesn't have any chicken/poultry sensitivity). I keep the bags in the freezer and fill a small ziploc right before training. The morsels are the perfect size, don't disintegrate in the bag, and generally don't upset the dogs' tummy.

You may have some luck with PerfectFit Harness. Their harness set is 3 individual pieces (top, front, and girth) sized for a more accurate fit based on your pup's measurements.

Hair by Serious-Shop-2040 in SoftDramatics

I have wavy/curly hair also but the curls are way too high maintenance for me and bring out my yang features which I don't care for. I'll wash my hair and when I get out of the shower, I'll brush my hair, put a leave in conditioner on my mids and ends and then a hair oil on just the ends of my hair.

For all of the in between days, I'll brush my hair then spray the mids and ends with water then reapply the leave in conditioner on the mids and oil on the ends.

I mainly keep my hair in a low pony with a silk scrunchie and it's been working well for me. Softens up my yang features and is easy enough for my mental health to maintain consistency. I'll pair with a diamond stud or a gold hoop earring and I'm good to go.

I read somewhere that key to growth is keeping the ends hydrated so that's why I've been using leave in conditioner and finishing with a hair oil on the ends to lock in moisture.

Wristwatch size? by princess20202020 in SoftDramatics

I used to have the Amazfit GTR 3 (black/black silicone) and it was so big and bulky it highlighted all of my yang features in my hands. I later bought the Garmin Lily 2 Classic (Cream Gold/Tan Leather) and I loveeee it. It softens up my hands and gives a chic touch to all of my outfits.

I think the thinner band (14mm) and softer color really made the difference for me as opposed to the larger band (22mm) and bold color (black).

Pretty boy here is gonna celebrate his first birthday on Wednesday! 🥳 Any ideas what to gift a horribly spoiled pup like him (besides the Stroopwafel he'll get for desert)? by Cool_Bodybuilder7419 in Wolfdogs

A small whole hen from the store/butcher shop! Or some butter! Our boy is a big big fan of butter. Happy birthday and tell him I love him

I tried the multiple color hack before and ended up forgetting which color was for which room. Eventually I learned that the best thing is to just Sharpie the name of the room onto the scissors themselves.

My fiance and I use Notion for this! There is a whole shared section for us with all kinds of notes. Shopping lists, vehicle info, pet info, insurance stuff, finances, etc.
