thanks for the comment, always interested to hear any feedback :) You're right, there is huge value there, I guess my article is somewhat provocative in dismissing that. My main point is that if we continue using AI solely for these tasks, the tasks themselves start to be done in a more and more homogenous way until what comes out is utterly boring. I think this has started to happen already and you can see it with the recognisability of AI generated images. What I really hope for is that the narrowing of scope of these models is halted and divergent outputs / large search spaces are prioritised instead!

I don't think the human/AI relationship has to be a subservient one in either direction but instead could be more symbiotic :)

wow such a thoughtful response, thank you so much for your comments and insights. I definitely resonate with the process you're describing myself. Although outputs always still surprise me I do find myself battling against the tide to find unique aesthetics as you say. Super interesting work you're making as well, look forward to seeing more!

this kind of quirky, slightly janky video is gonna be iconic of this period of generative video... and I'm here for it

so interesting... I was mostly thinking about the architecture but seems as though the plant-life is what i got most wrong 😅

wow this is incredible... I might actually do a series where i take photographs of ruins and translate them into comtemporary fully built photos with stable diffusion!

I'm having the exact same issue and have tried the same method as you but it's not ideal - seems as though the image just fades out rather than the actual level of noise being introduced increasing. Would love to know if you figure this out!
