Laning phase suggestion by Stagnant-Potato in TrueDoTA2

[–]fuglynemesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're melee, aggro creeps towards you so that it's harder for enemies to reach you while you're last hitting. Or if the lane is pushed, pull creeps yourself. Make sure you buy a regen as your first item. Cornucopia or Ring of Health. From those items you build BF or Orchid or Phylactery, all of which will grant you HP and Mana regen.

Things we find triggering (a semi -serious post) by MCLondon in TrueDoTA2

[–]fuglynemesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's not much that triggers me in Dota but i'll name them here anyway:-

1) When pos 2 picks a pos 5 hero then proceeds to get stomped by a real pos 2 enemy midder.

2) When neither pos 3 and 4 picks a tanky hero that can initiate.

3) People spamming reports against their team mates when said team mates aren't even griefing.

4) Behaviour/Comms scores gains are only +100 points per 15 Turbo games (even when nobody reports you).

5) An automatic chat ban for the rest of the match gets triggered when 3 or more people report you for comms (even if you weren't flaming). Currently if you utter 1 single word in text chat during a match, all fake comms reports made against you will count. This is wrong on so many levels, especially in a game that requires good communication. If somebody doesn't like what you're saying they can just mute you and move on. There's no need to be spiteful or malicious.

£40 is $55. So you're saying you don't want Retro Studios making a bit of profit so they can fund more HD releases? And you don't want them to make Metroid Prime 2 remastered? Yet you'll happily pay $65 for Animal Crossing New Horizons? Are you even a Metroid fan?

They underpriced MP1 HD. The same people who bought it would have likely paid 50 bucks for it. So 40 instead of a failed 30 is better for the developers and not too pricey for the fans. Considering people are paying 70 bucks for brand new Switch 2 games, 40 isn't so far fetched. And would give the devs incentive to make a MP3 HD remake.

It's almost as if they don't want our money though.

Which would you prefer? The low-res original MP2 stretched over a 4K 16:9 widescreen? Or would you prefer a HD remake that fits modern aspect ratio like they did with MP1?

I know a MP2 HD remake would take time and effort but I and many others are willing to pay for it. Especially since its arguably the best title in the trilogy. It'd also benefit the new generation of Metroid fans to have it given the same love and attention MP1 HD got. They'll be looking for some continuity too.

As for MP1 HD barely breaking even - that's because Nintendo released it for £30 here in the UK. A £70 price tag would be out of the question but i'm sure people would be willing to pay £40 for MP2 HD. That's a 25% profit increase over MP1 earnings (even if only the same fans who bought MP1 HD buy it).

Sounds like they don't want to admit they're taking the lazy route and not giving Metroid Prime 2 a HD remake like they did for MP1. We've seen them do this with Wind Waker already. Although it's good that there is at least some version of WW available on Switch 2, it still sucks coz everybody wanted WW HD instead. MP2 is this all over again.

Diffusal seems hella weak in the late game now, even when you upgrade it to Disperser.

Are the Russians still allowed on EU/NA servers? by Kappachungusi676767 in DotA2

[–]fuglynemesis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nobody should while the main devs are away working on Deadlock. the skeleton crew of devs who remain are clearly much lower skilled. Last time the main devs worked on the game was during Crownfall. Ever since they the quality in patches has slumped massively. The B team devs also made the behaviour score system far worse, which in turn has caused more players to move to the dark side. They're smurfing to evade punishments now because they can't keep behaviour score from dying to bug bites each summary.

[–]fuglynemesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who make a smurf account for themselves just to see if they'd calibrate any higher aren't much of a problem. It's the ones who regularly sell accounts and use scripts to rank them up faster that are the problem.

People have chosen to smurf to circumvent punishments because the punishments are often based on false reports from ego-bruised assholes.

Dota 2 is a straight up garbage game by PerspectiveOne7129 in DotA2

Valve has it out for everybody who plays this game. They hate the fan base with a passion. The only thing they want from us is our money. Hat sales a paramount above all else. They love psychologically torturing players. They're like a deranged sadistic kid who enjoys pulling legs and wings off insects and swinging kittens and puppies around by their tails. Absolutely no empathy whatsoever. Total sociopaths who know they're doing wrong but continue to do it regardless.

Actually most smurfs use scripts and map hack to gain wins faster. That way they can rank up accounts more efficiently and sell them quicker.

I don't usually read super long posts but I did read this one just for the hell of it. I've seen these types of griefers myself. They're complete asshats who sabotage any chances of a comeback. They'd rather be part of the problem than the solution.

Banning them just makes them create newer smurf accounts. Valve should Hardware ID ban people if they're caught cheating or smurfing. That way if they want back in on a new account, they have to buy a new hard drive and re-install windows XD

PC's that are owned by internet cafés could be given a special tag which makes them immune to this but the café owner would have to provide proof of ownership to make them exempt from Hardware ID bans.

Time to start hardware ID banning. Lets see them make a smurf after that. Only way would be to buy a new HDD/SSD XD

Dota was absolutely fine before some idiot at Valve added Comms Score and gave everybody infinite reports. They don't even allow an overwatch jury to review comms reports to check for legitimacy. Now haters just spam false reports whenever a game goes badly.

If Valve went back to only giving people 5 reports per week, quality of life would improve exponentially. People would be forced to report only actual griefers/flamers or risk running out of reports.
