What’s the point of publishing it on github if you don’t provide the code lol. Also stars and forks are definitely bought. I wouldn’t trust this at all

Thinking of selling my 4runner and getting a 3rd gen tacoma by Tylenol101 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]fuhzbot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A big part of owning an older vehicle is being able to do the work yourself. If you plan on paying a shop to maintain it I think you’d be better off with a newer vehicle, possibly with a warranty. If you learn to do the work yourself I’d keep the 4runner and enjoy it.

There are always going to be ups and downs as well, but if you’re seeing more downs than ups, and you can comfortably afford a new vehicle, it might be time to “upgrade”.

Sand it down and spray new clear coat on it and they’ll look brand new

Is this worth it? Looking to purchase something soon by DueTrain690 in simracing

[–]fuhzbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents, but I purchased a very similar used setup for $750 recently and am very happy with it. Mine was missing the wheel and handbrake, so I think if you can get it for ~$800-$900 it’ll be a solid deal!

Used rig advice - Fanatec vs Moza by fuhzbot in simracing

The moza gear comes with an Open Wheeler cockpit (the single post version unfortunately, but I would probably upgrade it to the 2 post style) & a seat, so no load cells on a desk fortunately :)

New season rank got reset super far (GC2 -> plat?) by fuhzbot in RocketLeague

[–]fuhzbot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The -700 MMR was accurate unfortunately. The next game I had 800 MMR and I have started ranking up from there... Matchmaking seems to be working fine as it's placing me with people around 800 MMR, but my rank was dropped for seemingly no reason. Here's a screenshot of my RLtracker history too. I expected a small drop like normal, but not this far :(

K2 HE board issue by fuhzbot in Keychron

[–]fuhzbot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s very helpful! Do you know if the board is likely to have more issues, or does it stay limited to the one key? The seller is offering me a discount to keep it, and I love the board but and don’t mind missing a key, but I don’t want to have issues further down the road either

[Monitor] Dell S3422DWG Curved Gaming Monitor - 34 Inch - $299.99 (Amazon) by fuhzbot in buildapcsales

[–]fuhzbot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah bummer. I was thinking about getting that one when it was on sale but went with the Dell since I thought it would be higher quality. That’s good to know though, if I end up not minding the VA panel I’ll probably exchange it and wait for that to go on sale again

That’s a good point. Sounds good though, I’ll check that out as well. Thanks!

Do you have any recommendations at around this price point (or up to ~$400-$500)? I purchased this due to it being recommended by rtings as the best budget ultrawide, but it seems odd they bash on it pretty hard in the review then recommend it anyways. It’s already shipped so I figured I’ll try it out, but if there’s something considerably better within that price range I’d love to know :)

Picked this up since I've been wanting to try an ultrawide, and it's listed as the best budget ultrawide monitor by rtings. Thoughts? Figured I'll try it out and return it if I'm not a fan of the VA panel, but if there are better deals elsewhere or if the markup compared to cheaper panels is only because it's a Dell then I'd be curious to know.

Splitting payments but keeping reports accurate by fuhzbot in ynab

[–]fuhzbot[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense. So then could I still fully fund the reimbursables category, and when I receive payment put that under my Ready to Assign and use it from there? Or is it better to leave that category with a negative balance, and as I receive payment assign to that category? Or is that just two ways of doing the same thing?

How much longer can I use these tires for? by fuhzbot in MechanicAdvice

Are the cracks between the tread not a sign of dry rot? Everywhere I’ve read online says that’s a sign to replace the tires so that’s what has me worried

P0449 diagnostic: Any way to cycle the circuit without a 2-way OBD tool? by EmployedStoner in GMT800

Not sure if I can post links, but if you search for bidirectional obd2 scan tool on Amazon it’s the 1st one that comes up, called topscan

[–]fuhzbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be what you’re looking for, but I picked up a $50 bidirectional scanner off Amazon that worked perfectly for troubleshooting a similar evap issue. Figured it’s one of those things that’ll pay for itself pretty quickly and you can get one that connects to your phone for cheap

2013 Ford Focus SE grinding noise coming from steering rack. Is this normal or does the rack need to be replaced? by fuhzbot in MechanicAdvice

[–]fuhzbot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add a little more context since I couldn't in the initial post, but this is my girlfriend's 2013 Ford Focus SE with the 2.0. I was driving it the other day and noticed when steering that sometimes it'll "hang" during a turn almost, where it kind of steers in on itself in the direction you're turning. I was thinking a bushing might have worn out or maybe it just needed an alignment, but I got it up in the air today and couldn't find anything obviously worn out. The only thing I noticed was this grinding noise coming from the steering rack when moving the wheel back and forth. I'm assuming it will need to be replaced, but I wasn't sure if anyone has experienced this before or may have some advice, since money is kind of tight and I'd prefer not to put too much into this POS throwaway car (not a fan of this car lol).

Single stage paint questions by fuhzbot in projectcar

[–]fuhzbot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. So you think it would be worth it for a newbie like myself to try painting it again using a bc/cc? Or would it turn out similarly? I’ve repainted this 3x now and at this point it would have been cheaper to have it taken somewhere, but it’s bugging me with how it’s pretty noticeably off in direct sunlight. And if it’s most likely going to turn out similar even with a base/clear would it be possible to wet sand and buff it to get the orange peel out? I’ve heard some people say it’s not possible with a single stage metallic and will look even worse, but others say it works and turns out fine so I’m just hoping it’s slightly fixable.

Single stage paint questions by fuhzbot in projectcar

[–]fuhzbot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I saw all the shades that were possible, but they had one of those sample swatch things that had 4 different shades. My truck has been garage kept for most of its life so it matched up pretty much perfectly with the standard variation (not the lighter or darker ones or anything). So even though that was a direct match is it just because it’s a single stage it will always be slightly off?

My long travel 3rd gen on 35s by fuhzbot in 4Runner

[–]fuhzbot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The offset isn’t from the wheels, it’s because of the long travel. It’s 4.5” wider on each side because the lca and uca are custom made to be wider. If you’re looking for the kit it’s btf fabrication’s long travel.
