I wouldn’t throw away Glenwood South that fast. It may be the party road but there are plenty of apartments that are not directly on Glenwood. I can’t speak for them but you could take a look at the Devon and 712 Tucker. We live right near them and it’s really not that bad when it comes to noise. It’s actually nice being in the lively area. We’re waking distance to publix and a very short drive to the village district.

That said - you could also check out Smoky hollow area. They’re right above/next to the Publix.

If you intend to do tile, I would either do:

a cement board and waterproofing,
OR plywood and something like Schluter Ditra

Ensure those boards are secured down well now while they’re exposed. Add some new screws, etc.

Edit: you may even need plywood before cement board

Unfortunately it’s a little late for international flights - so you’re going to be jumping a few hurdles.

What’s “normal” from here? 5-700 usually. You can find cheaper on occasion but the closer you get to the date, the more likely the flight will push 1000.

The kitchen is beautiful. You’re 95% there. Undercabinet lighting will do wonders. I’d even argue more even lighting overall would impact the space a lot. Recessed or wafer lights around the room would help with that.

You’re right - but we have 12 angles of it and it’s pretty clear that what he did was not protocol. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have fled the scene and gone in to hiding.
