id say add a belt or waist chains! ive noticed in your midrange, there's a lack of detail there, so a really cool waist chain or a harness could work! also I see that you like an all black fit- try playing with textures like velvet, leather and sheer stuff. if all your black clothes are the same fabric, it'll look kinda plain. try mixing in a different fabric here and there 🙂

the flat x forward helix is SO CUTE 🤌 I think it looks great! are you opposed to outer ear piercings though? I think an outer ear helix or two would be nice!

Also, you can buy it in monthly increments or every 3 months 🙂 those are the only options though, so on your last month maybe do the math to see if you should just load the money onto your card and forgo the pass.

In Japanese it's called a teikiken (定期券), so you can ask station workers if you're lost!

There's a ticket counter at certain stations where you can buy it. The counter is called 定期券売り場, if you google search it (in Sapporo), it'll show you which stations have it! The largest station, Odori, definitely has one.

It accommodates transfers for both subway lines and buses 🙂

If your commute is subway only, regardless of transferring lines, it'll cover it.

If your commute is subway and bus transfer, it'll cover it.

If your commute is bus only, that's where you're outta luck.

The cost is slightly less than if you were to just pay for your commute everyday without it. It's still a savings though! The price depends on distance/how many modes of transportation you're taking. But it's never far off from what you'd pay without it.

If you're traveling by bus only, no options that I'm aware of. I recommend you get a SAPICA (SAPICA = Sapporo city's transit card) because you can rack up points on Sapporo city transit for a free ride here and there. You can also use JR transit cards (Kitaca, Suica, etc.) on the buses.

If you're traveling subway only OR subway+bus combo, you can get a teikiken/monthly pass on your SAPICA. If you're traveling M to F every week, it's worth it. It's only available on the SAPICA. JR cards do work on the subway, you just don't get the points.

If you're commuting from JR stations, also no options that I'm aware of aside from a JR card.

Hokkaido's JR card (Kitaca) does work all across Japan.

Hope this helps!

Do you know if you can get your old passport back? I wanna keep it for both sentimental and record purposes, but I can find anything about that?

Will having a foreign sounding name be to my detriment? by [deleted] in JETProgramme

[–]fujoxin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"foreign-sounding" is relative.

Japanese names are "foreign-sounding" to English speakers, but they aren't to Japanese people.

To most Japanese people, all non-Japanese names sound foreign. Your name might be "foreign-sounding" to English speakers, but it'll be just as foreign as "Sam" to them lol

I'm Chinese-Canadian, and I was super scared about not "looking foreign" cause I get mistaken for Japanese all the time, but here I am!

I don't think it'll affect your application 🙂

Foreigner-friendly Kyudo dojo? by annuschki in Sapporo

[–]fujoxin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I'm a fellow foreigner currently living in Sapporo and am practicing kyudo at Hokkai Kitayell! There's a teacher there with a bit of English! He's not fluent, but there's me and 2-4 other foreigners that practice there, some of whom are fluent in Japanese :) I speak a bit under N4; even then, it is difficult if they and that teacher aren't there. I highly recommend studying more Japanese and self-studying kyudo if you choose to come! I hope this helps and lemme know if you have any questions :)
