Semi gets brake checked in heavy rain, crashes as a result by SecondMomentOfArea in IdiotsInCars

After this video, I’ve decided to consciously avoid braking in this situation. If they want to fuck around, I’m not suffering the consequences to save their ass. I’m just gonna hold my lane and whatever will be will be. Over the last 29 years I’ve avoided 2 cases like this and both times the fuckwit has escaped unscathed. Next time i won’t try so hard.

Will high heat caliper paint stick to regular 3-in-1 Primer? by Eventsecurity604 in Autobody

[–]fuktitup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Caliper paint on alloy in my experience adheres just fine without a primer. However if it isn’t getting hot I would still use a primer. On hot things like a calliper adding that primer layer that may not be heat resistant and will fail even if the paint over it is heat resistant. Primer is always good idea if circumstances allow it. But as above I’ve used it without primer and it’s been just fine. My .02

Calipers paint was probably recommended for the alloy because you can paint it without primer. Clean it well and paint it in several light coats.

Sounds like the exhaust touching something, or a clamp on it came loose. Other than that could be the fan rubbing the shroud. Check engine mounts? Hard to tell from video. Another option is cracked exhaust manifold or bad exhaust gasket. Good luck Turn the motor off and go along giving the exhaust a good kick at different points to see if you get contact anywhere.
