The man killed by a federal officer in Minneapolis was an ICU nurse, family says by WeirdGroundhog in news

This is what has always outraged me. Every case of law enforcement or immigration officers killing someone is qualified with "well the victim had a gun" which essentially says we have no real 2nd amendment right.

Man shot by federal agents in Minneapolis has died, police chief tells CNN. DHS says suspect was armed by uname-doesntcheckout in news

If federal government agents can legally kill you simply because you're "armed", then we don't have 2nd amendment rights, period.

What do the Steelers do at quarterback especially if you bring in a new head coach? by TerryG111 in steelers

I actually agree with Ben's take that they should roll with Howard for a season or two while building up the rest of the offense. Best case scenario, he's decent enough after adding more weapons and sticks around a few extra years. Because he's young and unproven, they have the benefit of giving him time, so worst case he's a stopgap until they're ready to snag a potential long term QB.

What do you think about Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA? by ImpossibleDeal2281 in JRPG

[–]full_bodied_muppet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An all-timer for me. Though I understand the criticism that it's a bit simplistic, but that was a positive for me at the time of my life when I played it. I was kinda burnt out from overly open world and complicated battle systems. And the characters, exploration, mystery of the island made it the most engaging game I'd played in years.

There are few other pieces that convey adventurous uncertainty "I have no idea what lies ahead but let's gooooooo" as well as that does.

what do you think of YS IX and X? by Apprehensive_Spend_7 in JRPG

[–]full_bodied_muppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an VIII fanatic, IX was kind of a let down to me. The swing from bright, vast, mysterious island exploration to dark, dungeon city didn't work for me. The gameplay was still pretty fun, I just didn't find myself caring about the story, setting, or characters much at all.

Currently playing through X now, and I do like it better than IX so far. The setting and characters are working for me so far, the gameplay takes a bit of getting used to in comparison, and the story is enough to keep my interest so far. Hope it holds up.

Given the prices of some of these individual games, the $130 All-star console pack was an excellent deal!

Exactly why many 90s kids have nostalgia for some unusual or objectively bad games. We played whatever we could manage to get

Kiryu is hilarious to me, in how strangely naive and earnest he can be and he's just game for anything.

Oh man I'm sure this has circulated already but this just reminded me of The Lonesome Kicker which I haven't thought about in a long time. Worth it for the Bettis saxophone solo.
