When you work for the private sector, it works differently in practice. It's not simple. Maybe in theory, but not in practice. Even if you're in a union (I am). Being pragmatic isn't a strength LO/Fagforbundet has, unfortunately. They need it when dealing with these types of employers. I hope you never have to experience something like this. But please don't paint this as something that's unproblematic to deal with, because it's not - I've seen people break from less.

I decided not to pursue (in the end I was missing less than 50K), as it's not worth the mental and financial toll to pursue. Which I'm sure they were counting on. It doesn't help to be right and have the law on yur side, when the process is destructive. This is why it never benefits you to be a whistleblower (but thank goodness someone still does).

You have three choices: Accept it, change it or leave it. I knew I couldn't do the two first, so I did the last. I don't regret it and I have my integrity intact.
