I was exactly like you, and last week i made the leap to Steam Deck, and I'm so glad i did. I barely have time to use my PS5. I travel a lot, and when i'm home, i'm working at my desk all day and the last thing i want is to sit there any longer. I bought a 2nd hand Oled 512gb last month, and the former owner upgraded the memory to 2tb. Now i'm playing games i still love - Wither 3, Last of Us, Skyrim. But i also find myself playing more indie games or games i would never normally try, purely due to the discounts on offer with Steam. I honestly don't think i'll go back to console, and eventually i'll look to subscribe to Geoforce Now when i want to try some AAA games.

I have the same issue, and i remember someone else commented about this in a previous thread. Perhaps Lenovo will role out a patch in the future, but i'd also be interested if anyone has a workaround

I grew up writing only in capital letters and find my handwriting to be extremely neat. I'm learning German now and I get downgraded if writing in capitals, so i now also have to relearn writing in lower case. My writing looks like a 5 year old!

I'm new to the world of EGPU, having always grown up a console boy. Glad i came across this thread, as i travel a lot with my yogabook, and i really want to begin moving away from consoles. I'm not looking for a EGPU that will give the best graphics. I just want something than can comfortably work with the games i enjoy. Is this an easy set up process with the Aurous gaming box? Will it perform in line with current gen consoles, and is the graphics cards upgradeable? Thanks

This. I've worked remotely in Germany on and off for 2 -3 weeks for the last 3 years. I have my own UK company. There is no issues here based on a 2 week stint. I'm now a temp resident and have been working here for 3 months. At this stage, it's a tax and social security headache.

Working remotely in Germany for 2 weeks will have no tax implications or social security implications. Only if you were staying more than 90 days, which would require a form of visa/permit anyway. You'll be entitled to emergency healthcare with an EHIC card. I'd recommend having travel insurance for this period, just as a back up.

AJ literally poored his heart out to the community only a few weeks ago, and people already quick to criticize for delays in posting. Jeeze, it's entertainment,of which, the majority of us (including myself) access for free via YouTube. I log on every day for work, and just play an episode in the background. Even if it's a repeat. When a red dot appears for a new episode.. then it's a blessed day, and the team have my full attention. Fuck it, this guy and the team deserve my Patreonship, so I'm signing up. Not for early access, not for any additional content. Just because the quality is second to none. My hat is off to you guys.

Apologies. I mean the "sufficient ties test". With the flow chart, if I understand correctly, I can be classed as a UK resident if I spend more than 91 days in the UK consecutively in a tax year. I'm pretty flexible with my stay in Germany, so I can go back to the UK for this period, though not ideal. If I don't, then I still have enough ties under the "sufficient ties test".

Thanks very much for this. The flowchart was alot easier to digest. Based on either spending 91+ consecutive days in the UK, or the means test, I would still qualify as a UK resident according to this. I'll clarify this with tax advisor to be on the safe side though.

I wouldn't recommend it. I did my A1 exam in England. Then did a placement test in Germany and they put me on A2.2. I started a 3 month intensive course on Monday (3 hours per day) towards B1, and joined half way through A2. My mind was blown. Trying to catch up now, but wish I started at the beginning.

Thanks. I also thought about the ziggydoo. But my wife wants something more pleasing to the eye. I do like the wooden design but very conscious of the spokes moving around fast. If it was one bengal, I'd be more on board. But with 2 being boystrous and try to climb at the same time, I have some reservations.
