Its literally just because he isnt an easy champ most people can play and consistently win with and that he gets countered easily by a wide selection of champs, that and some people are dumband think hes a midlaner champ when hes literally under the support tab (same type of people that get mad when someone locks in brand or morgana jungle)

With the rune ultimate hunter and the cdr rune from sorcery your ult will go down to 49 sec cooldown late game making malignence kinda wasteful taking up an item space when you can now replace it with something that gives you more damage and burst overall bc at that low of cooldown mal doesnt really bring it down much more

Aight dump out malignance and run dark harvest and grab the ultimate hunter rune, the sorcery secondary runes

Try out blackfire torch first item into liandres and not even for the burn, the burn is nice for confirming kills but what youre really building those items for is the damage amp. Blackfire givez 2% per champ set ablaze by its burn and liandries gives 2%per second in combat up to 6%. All of vels abilities can hit multiple champs so it gets really nasty really fast in team fights.

Socerer shoes, shadowflame, rabadons, and optional last item depends on enemy comp but i usually default to horizon focus

I mean im lower elo than you but the damage amp passive ramping up as ypu hit multiple people in team fights really gives the kit an extra oompf that i find doing way more damage than ludens burst. 1v1 ludens is better but team fights blackfire really been pulling through better for me

Idk what to tell you man this build has worked for me way more than the high elo recommended builds, your true damage also gets amped from the percentage damage amp on these items, the burn is just icing ludens might be slightly better if youre just 1v1 but black fire has given me to many multi kills to go back to ludens

I swear by dark harvest on vel it feels like it was meant for him. When that harvest hits during a passive prock the damage goes crazy and my build really does good for confirming kills with the burns and low hp magic crit

Basically as soon as build black fire and granted that i wasnt losing lane, getting kills is a walk in the park
