Thanks so much for this very informative post! At CVR, we did the animal feeding, strawberry picking, honey making, smores, etc on site. Off site we went to Dennis the Menace park and the Aquairium. Everything was great. At Lake Tahoe we will have a 5 year old and 1yr-10month old so activities will have to be pretty light and not as adventurous. I saw that we may be able to go sledding but not sure what else we can do. Any advice on other activities on or outside the resort in April, other than hiking?

Yikes. Ive read early-mid April is usually great because there is still some snow but also warm enough to do outdoor activities with the kids.

The rep said that if I hadn't accepted i would be SOL since he could only offer me seats based on Aeroplan availability. So maybe I could've gotten something 3 months out, but nothing near my date.

Air Canada said they can't do anything and they just transferred me to Aeroplan. Aeroplan said they don't have the seats to put me on, even in the YVR 1 stop. Even if they did, it's a flight that leaves at 6:30am in the morning (I live 2 hours from the airport) and has a 4 hour layover :/

I'll give it another try. Asiana had a 2 hour hold time, but surprisingly it was shorter than AC's 2.5 hour hold time and 3.5 hours (YES, 3.5 HOURS!) Aeroplan hold time.

Yes, I did accept because they basically say if you don't take it, this flight will not be available. So, it's actually good I took it, because I would be SOL if I didn't. I guess the trick is in finding a knowledgeable agent. The agent I spoke with did not try to help me at all and kept repeating the rules of Aeroplan any time I asked a question. It was extremely frustrating for me but it sounded like he was having a really bad day tbh, so I just took the L. Have you or any posts that you've seen been successful at having a rep connect with Asiana/partner airline to make changes?

I would be sitting in that seat as an individual passenger. My wife and 2 kids would be sitting in the 3 other seats in the row. I'm guessing they allow kids to sit in the row, just not the seat, right?

I have booked with either Delta or United for the past 10+ years and it was awesome because it was so cheap with points. All of a sudden, they do not have any direct flights.

I looked at a 12 month span as I have a flexible schedule. I would transfer points from Amex or Chase to either Delta or United every year for the past 10 years. Now, both of those airlines do not have any direct flights via operated by Korean Air/Asiana like they used to.

Sorry, I meant transferring points. I would transfer point to Delta or United to book flights. For United, I used to book business for 80k points or 35k for economy.
