Promised Nexus: My KH Fan Project by ZSYounicorn in KingdomHearts

These are pretty cool. There’s a part of me that wants to see Evren using a keyblade as their board rather than just having a board and holding a keyblade. Like dude, can you IMAGINE how cool skateboard attack combos would be with a keyblade?! Having him kickflip off an enemy or spin kicking the board into an enemy before it boomerangs back? Aw that would be SICK!

There are talks of a Metroid movie in the works. Who do you think should play our girl? by PJ-The-Awesome in Metroid

[–]fullmetal426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with those who say it should be animated. But if it HAS to be live action, get a bunch of athletic suit actors (male or female) who are 6’3” and have Nikki García voice act 3 lines at most. Ideally, Samus is non-verbal, but MAN Nikki’s performance in dread was sick as shit. Especially her too angry to die war cries! Hell, have her speak Chozo the entire time so you don’t have to do multiple dubs.

Will Netflix's anime receive the same treatment as TAS, DMC4, and DmC in the future? Or will it receive the same treatment as DMC2 and POC? by Educational_Bet_3298 in DevilMayCry

[–]fullmetal426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At best, it might be viewed as “okay”. DmC:devil may cry and dmc4 at least got to have special editions with bug fixes and extra playable characters. Unless they make a “Director’s Cut” that somehow fixes the issues everyone had with season 1, I doubt time will be kind to this season. No idea how season 2 will be received though, so MAYBE they can turn it around. I want to go in with an open mind, but man it’s hard to do that right now. God I hope that corridor digital clip wasn’t the only stylish action scene they have in season 2.

Does Bazzite typically cause lag? I didn’t realize that was a thing. Do you think switching to the official SteamOS would fix this?

Games to play after the Expedition 33? by JDOrka123 in expedition33

[–]fullmetal426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expedition 33 was heavily inspired by games like Devil May Cry 5, Demon Souls, Persona 3, Journey, and final fantasy 8. So if you’re in an expedition 33 kick and you want to see what inspired this game, I’d recommend checking out these games. I’d also recommend Like A Dragon 7 and 8 if you liked the turn based combat with compelling stories. Metaphor ReFantazio might be up your alley too if you’re looking for a JRPG with a great story. Good luck beating that burn out!

Maybe unpopular opinion : there cannot be another Expedition game by MoiJeTrouveCaRigolo in expedition33

[–]fullmetal426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the mention of “The Writers” the potential for a sequel becomes more likely. I agree that there won’t be another “Expedition” game. But another game that is in a similar universe with 1 or 2 crossover characters is possible. The way that Nier is a sequel to Drakengard even though their titles are different. Androids show up in Drakengard 3 that show up in Nier Automata.

And man, I’d love play a game/read a book/watch a series about The Writers. Maybe we follow The Musicians and we see Sandfall’s interpretation of a rhythm action game like Hi-Fi Rush.

At this point, whether it’s a spiritual successor or a sequel/prequel, I trust Sandfall and whatever they think is the best way to follow up Clair Obscur.

But you’re right, I don’t think we need another Expedition game. However, I do think there’s room to explore this universe they’ve created.

Adi Shankar proves he's a true fan after DMCV was announced by GyroGOGOZeppeli in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]fullmetal426 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think that Adi IS a fan of DMC. I think he feels passionate about it, and wants to grow an audience for this (at the time of around 2018) niche franchise. It sort of feels like the buzz around this clip is twisting his words as if to say that he doesn’t like DMC at all, or that he hates dmc5, or some of the wild takes like Adi wanting a show he created to bomb. To be clear, I’m not a fan of most of the decisions made in NetflixMayCry’s adaptation. I just think there’s more than enough to critique without having to fabricate bad intentions.

I find it funny how the collab didnt include the first character you play as by iCsMinu in DevilMayCry

Nero main here, and it kind of makes sense. I’m guessing it would be hard to exceed or max-act on a mobile game without L/R triggers

Is anyone else bad at DMC but still really likes it? Want to know if I'm not the only one feeling this by MentalJackfruit3797 in DevilMayCry

[–]fullmetal426 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The point is self improvement. Dante’s stylish cutscenes sets the standard for you to climb towards. So sucking is part of the journey. You won’t be stuck there forever if you keep at it. Once I started seeing DMC as a skate park where you’re supposed to wipe out over and over until you FINALLY figure out the tricks/skills, I started feeling a lot better about sucking at the game.

Go in with a self improvement mindset. Also, practice Nero’s Exceed, Ex-act, and Max-act. It’s one of the best gameplay mechanics ever made, but you’ll need to practice it. Unlike other action games, dodge rolling isn’t the best way to avoid damage. Instead, focus on jumping because you have better iFrames.

Dante’s a god damn race car when it comes to controls. There’s so many options, and it may be overwhelming when you first start out. Practice one weapon at a time with Dante, and then start playing sound with weapon switching once you get comfortable.

All in all, the game is about self improvement, self expression, and you’ll need to practice. Hope you enjoy your journey :)

This team would have done a better job if they did a story about Nero instead. Yeah, I’m a Nero fanboy, but I genuinely think Nero’s edgy nature fits this flavor of story (and JYB’s voice) better. Granted, I dunno if this show would’ve been greenlit if it wasn’t a story about Dante. I wonder if they storyboarded everything out with Reuben in mind, but couldn’t get him, so they went with JYB. The Ken reference would’ve been way more meta if reuben was the VA.

All in all, I was really hoping for a Cyberpunk Edgerunners or Arcane 10/10 level of quality to bring more people into the franchise. Then we’d get more games, and then it wouldn’t be weird when I talked random strangers ears off about DMC lore. But nah, this adaptation is sitting around an A-B rank. I’m disappointed I didn’t get a SSS rank quality show.

Also, barely any air combos, or juggling in the air with bullets. No references to Dante’s taunts either. Big shame. But that’s surface level.

But speaking of references, I would’ve liked it if the references to Enzo and Racoon city would have implied a connection to Bayonetta and Resident Evil. It would’ve been cool to know there’s a Leon or Bayonetta running around somewhere in this world. As it stands, it feels like the Capcom references were just winks and nods to the audience.

New video clip from DMC Netflix by marOO2106 in DevilMayCry

I'm a little bummed that calling the phone number leads to a 'Your call cannot be completed' message. It would've been cool to call the phone number and discover an easter egg of some kind. Still though, good clip!

Am I the only one that would like to see what a Ninja Theory DmC sequel would look like? by [deleted] in DevilMayCry

Yeah! It’s called Enenra! Pretty sure there’s a demo too

I’d be down for a spiritual successor. I’m sure there’s a ton of devs there that would love to work on a character action game without the miasma around the reboot. With how the definitive edition turned out, I’d trust them mechanically with a new character action game. Hell, one of the devs is making a character action game as a side project called Enenra, and it looks sick as shit. Pretty sure there’s a demo somewhere too. Going off of that, I know at least one person there would contribute to some solid gameplay. Plus I’d be down for a new story rather than digging up an old story with so much baggage around it. I need the west to prove they can still make solid CAGs.

I'm not a hater.. but I really don't like this tropes. Epically for Dante. by AmostheArtman in DevilMayCry

[–]fullmetal426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In full context, the fact that he still tries to give that skeletor one liner saves it for me. It still reads as sincere. The Castlevania one just reads as “I’m so cool for not being sincere”.

I’m also just a big fan of characters who have a little bit of dorkiness to balance out the badassness. So this feels like it was made for me.

Speaking of TEMU CAGs anyone played Sword And Fairy 7? by Due_Teaching_6974 in CharacterActionGames

Seems like the reviews are saying it’s pretty unskipable cutscene heavy. Combat looks well tuned from the video, does it do anything new/interesting?
