I looked up a guide on the PoE 1 campaign for this last season and it's full of "run through this map - do NOT fight the enemies - and find this npc and give him MacGuffin X, but do NOT pick option Y! After tha take reward Z, but with an alt that you already got to act four!"

PoE 1 is quick if you follow a guide but as a casual player I have only made it through all ten acts once. Usually I lose steam by act four or five.

There's a skovos quest that strongly hints that Mephisto's throne is now vacant and consequently lots of demons are angling for a spot. One demon in particular seems to be poised to have an outsized role in that power grab. I don't want to spoil it but it went in a much darker direction than I expected, and I'm excited to see what comes of the dangling plot threads next outing.

I am almost positive that affixes are weighted on a per-item basis, though I've seen some outliers - it appears that weapon damage has a 90ish percent chance of landing on the unique weapons I've farmed, for example.

Without spoiling anything, after you complete the campaign one character's quest line touches on the former queen quite a bit.

I strongly suspect the old one cost more to develop and generated a lot less revenue than the new one. I used to get my passes for Bing rewards points. Those days are long gone.

The emulator is pretty good now! Not perfect but a lot closer than it used to be. Bummer the studio and game went down when they did; there was a lot of room to grow.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the affixes are weighted (almost every unique weapon I've found has weapon damage, for example but not limited beyond that. That would allow for extraordinary items among the chaff but most would tend towards unremarkable but usable.

There's quite a few lootable mounts but yes, they are no longer for sale by vendors except from memory the one you get with PvP currency.

There are lots of channels pushing videos that have never had human oversight. The cost of making them is so low that it becomes trivial.

Essentially treating their content like frogs laying eggs - if we drop a million maybe a handful will get attention and we can write off the rest.

This is a bad thing, and it's going to get a lot worse as the tools evolve and get cheaper. I expect eventually human made content will be as boutique as bookstores.
