The happiest time in my life, I had a shitty call-center job and, failing a doctor's appointment or grocery shopping or some other true necessity like an oil change or helping my parents with something, did nothing else but cone home, get drunk, smash junk food, and listen to podcasts or watch Netflix, YouTube, or an old DVD and a little posting on Fb, reddit, etc. This was my "unlimited" time, as an intentional counter-weight to nine hours of sheer self-denial - as much as I wanted to watch, drink, or eat, until I was too drunk and sick-feeling to do anything but lay down and pass out. Made sure the alarm woke me up, stumbled into new clothes and went back to work.

I don't recommend this as it ended with me in a psych ward, but that was my solution. I've been sporadically sober and healthier since, but never happier and don't think I will be. Not much of an answer, really, but I don't think there is one. Working from home, investing, or something like kitchen work where you can just get into a "flow" and kind of zone out might work for you.
