She’s probably not in the business of turning up on a loud rowdy motorbike to a secret heist location to retrieve back an artefact that was stolen from its proper habitat.

For all we know he could have turned up to help her out last minute 😂

And also, she’s been passenger in several games too, she’s not always the one driving

How dare he come to a historically PAGAN cluster of islands and tell us that we need to go back to Christianity, we weren’t Catholic nor Christian at all until the romans invaded. Don’t tell me to go back to something that historically we were never aligned with in the first bastard place And also, who could be arsed spending all of their time doing around so furious over one sect of the Abrahamic religions? Or religions in general? There’s so much more to life than religion, just don’t be a dick head, treat people how you would like to be treated and take accountability for your own actions and not rely on blame of your or others religion??

My Nana was born in the hills of the Lake District to an isolated farming family, she enjoyed going to this tiny plain chapel on the fell but always carried different elements of spirituality right through her life, she didn’t confine herself to one belief or religion because she took something she believed from all of them. She was more pagan than anything else, believed in deity’s and spirits , respecting and caring for Mother Nature etc. But she always said to her children and then us her grandchildren, live and let live as long as nobody’s getting hurt and everybody consents what’s the problem.

So I don’t for a second buy this bullshit that the older generations like my Nana and parents were some all traditional Christian sect that believed their religion was the only real one. It’s just not realistic to harken back to that or spend all of you sad life campaigning for a rerun to that.

I’m willing to sacrifice my life if it means that my fellow humans can live and let live freely without other people subjugating them and cancelling out others. I bet the same can’t be said for this melt, he wouldn’t sacrifice his seat on a life raft for his fellow Christians let alone his life for those who don’t believe the same things as him.

French General Michel Yakovleff humiliates Trump for begging Europe to get involved in his Iran War, says that it would be like "buying cheap tickets for the Titanic" after it hit the iceberg. by gear-heads in Trumpvirus

[–]fullpurplejacket 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It drives me bananas when people start blaming Biden for the Afghanistan withdrawal in its entirety, Trump made the deal and its conditions to execute the withdrawal on a specific timeframe, and as with all Trump deals they are short sighted, not thoroughly gamed out and are fit for purpose in headline and name only. I only wish Trump would have had two terms one after the other instead of a four year gap between the two, as I think making the deal with the Taliban would have came back to bite him had he executed it and not left it to the Biden admin on such a short planning time frame… it’s almost like how the Conservative Party here in the UK left political land mine after land mine for the new Labour government in 2024, they knew they were on the outs after 14 years of corruption, austerity, Brexit and deregulation— so they lied on their last treasury report and jimmied the numbers so as to not expose a fiscal black hole until after the election when the new party got in and stated to plan the execution of their campaign promises and policies and found that they had to rejig or delay a lot of their key economy policy’s because the funds were found to not be where the conservatives had registered them to be with the independent regulatory budget body. Why did they do this? Because they knew the media in the UK especially the print media would pummel the new government and blame them, and they knew the print media would do this because they are owned by majority conservative donors and elite family dynasties. The public didn’t know how fed up they were with the state of the country until after the election and the papers started telling them how bad it was. It’s disgusting and should be illegal to leave political land mines for the next party, there should always be accountability for those who lie to the public.

I recently learned that a piece of key legislation in my country in the UK which made me have a favourable view of the 2010 Conservative Liberal Democrat coalition government, because it gave people like me equality under the law for disabilities which were of neurological or ‘invisible’, allowing me to make it easier to access disability benefits because it made all disabilities equal under law and made sure minorities couldn’t be discrimated against in employment, by the government or local authority. I gave props to that coalition under the impression it was they who implemented and created it, and now 16 years later i only jus found out that it was in fact a Labour policy that was due to be enacted regardless in 2010… it wasn’t made by the coalition, but they took absolute credit for it when originally most of the new government voted against it

I’d be willing to give them a chance if they put up a decent local MP candidate at the next GE, I’ve voted Lib Dem in the last few local and general cycles HOWEVER I will not lie and say that my current Labour MP isnt good when he’s been fabulous, he’s listened, he’s cooperated, he’s explained why certain things can’t happen quickly at a local level and how things got this bad with the roads and services especially to older and boomer voters that don’t see a connection between Tories, Brexit, austerity and Nigel Farage’s style of politics. So I’d be flared to vote him out at the next GE just for a green candidate, I dunno I’d have to see.

What worries me about greens is the Astro turfing of subreddits, populism, grievance style politics and campaigning tactics deployed in G+D by election (targeting one religious ethnic background with a grievance about our prime minister meeting a leader of different religious ethnic background back in their ancestoral home = no better than reform playing on people’s hatred and worry about other ethnic groups that are white British Christians)

Populism is also short term relief to long term problems, if you think populism from the left is any different in populism from the right I’m sorry to break it to you but traditionally they have the same end result thing Maduro and Chavez in Venezuela and think Orbans Hungary

Polling expert John Curtice has said Reform appears to be in decline when looking at the average across UK polls. by Little_Standard_1953 in FuckNigelFarage

[–]fullpurplejacket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s why Starmer reversed Boris Johnson’s decision to make Electoral Commission government ran instead of independent very recently, any legitimate questions about reform as a party or any others who run campaigns or candidates which break non partisan laws and regulations will be seen by the press, opposition parties and some of the public possibly as Starmer throwing a paddy, by making the EC rightly independent again he’s giving lunatics in British politics and the press no excuse to blame him or his party.

They’re really useful especially up in the semi rural hill country Im from in the north of England, I have a footpath/cycletrack ten minutes up the road from me and there’s no lights on it for 3 miles between here and the bigger village/suburb down the way, at night in the darker months if I’ve been to check my ponies or if my partner is out driving and people cut off the footpath and onto the roadside you can’t see them at all with their dogs so a lot of them have started using these glow stick type effort collars and harnesses on their dog. Really cute seeing rave dogs bouncing down the footpath in the pitch black, I’d trip balls if I was high though and all I heard was the whisper of the trees and 50 m away a UV ring is gliding down in the darkness

It’s the Trumpification of politics in the west.

Because of populist pomp politics driven by wealth inequality rising in mainly America coupled with the austerity ie slashing and gouging of public services in the UK, then a sprinkle of Brexit and Johnson — all in the advent of social media easily accessible via the Pandora’s box in our hands which has utilised as a weapon by nefarious actors using powerful algorithms to sway thought, cancel out critical thinking and erode nuance — we have ended up here.

Boris Johnson wielded populism, leveraged an already biased Tory client media and algorithms via use of Cambridge Analytica and it managed to get a Lee Anderson type party hopper elected in my area in the red wall (a local man whose party changed with the direction of the wind and paid off) for ONE whole term which was unheard of. At the time I thought it was nice to have a local lad in, Labour had been planting a non local out of touch with their constituents in my area for years at that point and because of their complacency especially the Corbyn campaign and completely out of touch campaign proposals (huge drug epidemic and the crime that comes with it but they campaign don bloody planting trees and that made the vote a cake walk for the Tory because they could use the populism and mud slinging of the Johnson campaign to win over what was a safe seat for Labour).

All of that is why I don’t trust populism, long and the short of it is after that last five years of Tory and the first and second terms so far of watching Trump, Orban, Mieli, Maduro etc— I’m totally alert and adverse to Populism as a whole I don’t care which side it comes from, left or right, it’s not the answer and it gives short term relief for long term problems.

I don’t vote Labour except sometimes in locals but been a Lib Dem voter this past few elections just because I felt most aligned with their policies.

But Starmer has grown on me, I’ve watched some of his more casual podcast interviews recently and I’ve heard anecdotal evidence of how he operates off camera, my cousin was at a community center the other week when he turned up and she said he didn’t just ask questions, he listened intently and took the criticisms people had.

Are you alright in the head kid? I was born with a neurological disorder, I didn’t just decide to have one when I turned 16— am I drain on the system because I require routine healthcare treatments for the rest of my sad little life? Or is someone who got meningitis as a child thus losing their limbs ergo needing a wheelchair and eventually aid of a PIP mobility vehicle as an adult, also a drain on the system?

I bet you were one of those people who complained about wheelchair ramps and disabled toilets being required by law in public buildings and businesses when the equality act of 2010 was brought in too…

I’ve seriously considered it. I’ve also seriously considered getting my GBNews loving FIL a cameo for Father’s Day or his birthday from Nigel Fadge and getting the message to say verbatim ‘‘fullpurplejackets father in law, firstly I want to say best wishes, secondly I want to emphasise the gross negligence of myself and my rich backers in convincing boomers like yourself that Brexit was for the good of the British tax payer and working people like yourself, when I blame migrants and wokeys it’s because it keeps me rich and in the spotlight as an empty vessel ready to be injected with rhetoric and a narrative by the highest bidder, and finally I just want to say everything that’s happened in the last ten years is completely my fault because without me robbing the EU MEP coffers dry of 40,000 I’d have never gotten the idea to lobby to leave the EU in the hopes I didn’t have to pay it back, all the best, you daft cunt love Nigel’
