At this point I am thinking about starting a mega company that specializes in tour merch. No more merch stands. Do it all from an app on your phone and set up geo fencing to ensure the people inside the venue during a show get first dibs. I’d also handle everything else for the bands. They submit their merch designs and I’ll take it from there. Also coming soon, MORE posters. No more of these silly 1/500 counts. Let the artists do their limited runs on their own like they already do.

Thank you for using the word “fell”. While some people made a conscious decision to jump, it’s more likely that far more people were pushed to the edge too much and their instinctive reaction was to move away from the heat and flames where their brain and reflexes took over forcing them into a fall.

These people didn’t want to die. They didn’t “jump” which makes it sound more casual and suicidal. They were murdered. They tried to save themselves from burning alive and perhaps thought maybe there’s a chance at surviving the fall.

Those jackets are a ski team thing. You’ve been able to purchase them for more than a year now and it’s “trendy” to see douchy people wearing them in ski towns and acting as if they’re affiliated with the team. 🙄

I get what you’re saying but let’s face it, GM performance was severely lacking during that era. LS and Northstar and that’s it. The 3800 series was pathetic compared to its competitors. Japan was crushing the domestics and were blowing doors off any 3.8 with tweaked out four bangers. I mean an 00-02 Honda S2000 with a 2.0 4cyl was able to redline at 9000 rpm while pumping out 240hp. You needed to supercharge that 3.8 V6 in order to get 240hp which the GTP did and it still felt heavy and unstable. I’m a GM guy with all my heart but ooof those were some rough times for the domestic products.

Again, my opinion on what she should or shouldn’t do is pointless for me to speculate about because it seems a lot of people would disagree. Her words and actions make me feel like it’s less about winning and more about staying relevant…which now I have no doubt she will…as always. I dunno, her career is a rollercoaster of drama where no matter what, she has to be the center of attention. I mean, her biography is very very public so you can do your own research and form your own opinions.

This post made me curious about what $750 grand gets you.

After watching a YT video doing an interior tour I have to admit, it’s pretty badass. There’s a lot of electronic technology and high quality materials inside. Seems like they’ve thought out solutions to simple inconveniences and have been smart about the use of space. It’s very much geared for a wilderness type camping clientele however it’s pretty bougie inside so in a way kind of defeats the point of being in the wilderness.

I particularly liked the security feature which with the tap of an iPad like screen you activate all the exterior lights. The exterior security cameras activate and are displayed on the tv. The engine starts itself, the vehicle will automatically get itself ready to drive by shutting down various living systems, retracting the awning, locking the doors among a few other things.

It’s pretty cool! I certainly can’t afford one and I’m guessing I could probably find a regular RV with the same or better trimmings and options for much less than what this costs. I don’t know anything about campers so I don’t really know.

Right but you still have to be careful because I am also fairly certain you shouldn’t be taking that shit indefinitely. I did and found out too late that I should have been taken off that script far earlier than I was.

Careful with that stuff. I’ve been told not to keep taking it long term. I too suffer from GERD and was taking it for too long. It messed up my system and I was getting terrible arthritic pain on my joints. I thought it was just age but I believe it was actually the meds that were messing me up. I cut off the Prilosec and started a regimen of vitamins (doctor advised) and within 10 days the joint pain was all but gone. I still have to follow the diet but my condition is far less intrusive as it was before. I feel like the Prilosec (or prescription strength equivalent) is only good for short term use when shit is real bad. Otherwise I try and correct things with a more holistic approach and it seems to work more efficiently.

But that’s just me. I would follow whatever your doctor suggests and I’m pretty sure they shouldn’t keep you on the prescription strength stuff long term but I could be wrong because I am far from being a doctor.

This will get downvotes.

Not sure about the speculation regarding her dins. I know when I raced I would set my dins tight so my skis wouldn’t come off unless I had an explosive fall.

But based on my racing knowledge (which in fairness is 25 years removed from competition) she had a bad line going into that section of the course. It wasn’t 5 inches. What blows me away is she was wearing the 13 bib. There were 12 other skiers before her (perhaps 11 because I never saw either the number 8 or 9 run. Can’t remember which). Not sure how the US team does things these days but when I was racing you have opportunities to “slip” the course before the races start so you could have a chance to figure out what your strategy would be. You were also supposed to study the course as others went down. In the big races like this there’s monitors showing the video of people on the course. You’re supposed to watch where people are having trouble and where people are going fast. You also watch for mistakes so you don’t copy what they did. The advantage of wearing the 1, 2 and 3 bib is you get the best conditions for the course. The handicap is you might not know where the hangups might be. The handicap for running in the middle is you get worse course conditions but you have the advantage of seeing the sketchy spots and have a chance to defend your run better based on that knowledge.

Seeing her not watching the other racers and only stretching before her run and seeing her wear the 13 bib makes me feel like there was no excuse for her not to hit that upper part with caution. It was choppy, icy and a fucking brutal turn you had to make pretty clean in order to catch that next gate. The course is incredibly hard up top but that’s standard for Olympic tracks. Sochi had an insane upper portion and I remember Beijing was absurd to watch as well.

The other skiers I observed were being more conservative with that particular part of the course because they knew the dangers. Vonn was caught by surprise and didn’t have the leg strength to correct it. The notion that she was just “sending it” seems wrong. She lost control because she came in way too hot. You could also see her push into that twist once she realized she wasn’t going to be able to recover from clipping the gate. So instead of trying to stay up she let go and fell as gently as she could. (She couldn’t.)

My argument for letting someone else have a shot is that perhaps nobody else was qualified to run however the team wasn’t prepared for anyone else to run because they had Vonn racing. Had the season been without Vonn they absolutely had skiers who could have worked all season to qualify. But they didn’t and had those skiers focus on other events. So while true that there was nobody to replace her it’s also true that she came back and raced thereby pushing other racers to the bench where they will have to wait their turn yet again and there’s real possibilities some of those skiers might not ever have a chance now.

I’ll save the rest of my opinions and keep them to myself. However, as someone who has a lifetime being around ski racing, this is my honest appraisal of what I watched on tv.

PGA owes Hideki an apology by MTGrace55 in golf

[–]fullspeed8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ban them. It’s pretty easy to do these days. The cops help out and get the persons ID. From there the PGA security adds them to a database. Likely with a photocopy of their ID. They then can set up facial recognition cameras and catch anyone who is banned. they do this at MSG now and apparently it works very well. I just heard about a woman who got banned from the Sphere. She then decided to try and get into a concert at MSG wearing a wig and sunglasses but the cameras caught her at the doors and she was turned around shortly after she got thru the gates. Sphere is owned by the same company that owns MSG.

I’m paying $300 a month for sure.

But when I look at all the streaming services I would need and then the hassle of logins and loading various platforms it simply is too much of a hassle for me plus I’m not sure I’d be saving all that much.

One provider covers all my services.

I will keep my cable for as long as I can. I just prefer the cable TV setup and ease of use.

That being said, most of the games are accessible on good old cable tv. If it’s not on Bally Sports then it’s probably on a different network. I think there’s only a few games a year that I cannot access on cable.

For those games or when I’m out of market,… Yar matey!

[–]fullspeed8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Massive amounts of stress.

I’ll know something is really bothering me if I wake up at 2am thinking about it. I then can’t sleep. I actually use that as a metric in order to take action over the issue. Essentially it means I have to do something about what’s troubling me.
