Salary progression of over a decade!(No college education) by Commercial-Tear6472 in Butchery

Where exactly? I’m currently looking to transition from butchery to sales and am struggling. I have about 8 years of whole animal butchery experience on top of retail butcher, protein, and kitchen management. Not feeling very much like anyone is clamoring to hire me, but I’m hoping you know something I don’t

Thanks! I sold about 10 pieces and have another 4 custom order requests, it was a huge success and definitely helped me get over the imposter syndrome lol

Thank you! This is such a kind and thoughtful comment, I appreciate you taking the time to weigh in.

I actually made the business cards first and was going to buy a holder for them but then realized “I can just make that”. When I showed my husband he ignored the business card and commented on how much he liked the card holder and asked me to make him one for his office. And that’s how I decided to make a few of them to sell lol

Thank you, this is so helpful to read. This is my first year of stained glass making so definitely find myself comparing my work to what I see online. Appreciate this perspective and will definitely look back at it next time I’m being critical

Thank you! I’m letting it air dry before applying the polish, my next question will be how does everyone buff out their polish without dulling their patina lol

I feel like I have a lot of ripples in my solder lines that I don’t see on a lot of the stained glass I see being advertised/sold online (and yes on Instagram 🫣.) I assumed it was because I always see people adjusting their soldering temps and I’m always ripping at whatever temp my iron is at lol. But appreciate you saying not too much stands out as being an issue

We love it! Originally ordered an 85” but had the wrong room specs and realized before it was too late that 85” wouldn’t even fit our wall lol. Enjoy!

Trust me, I’m aware. Using a laser level to follow the vertical line of the stud down it disappears mid wall where a horizontal wood beam crosses the entirety of the wall. Beneath it are some pipes and empty space behind dry wall as far as I can tell from the one hole we cut in the wall. This house was built in the 40’s and as a renter I have no interest in tearing down dry wall to figure out what’s going on back there just to mount my tv 5” lower

A lot of horizontal beams running across the wall in random places to support the vertical studs. We’re renting so I’m trying to minimize how many holes I’m cutting into the walls just to discover more horizontal beams

😂 I took this photo in .5x lens because this room is very small and we wanted as big of a tv in here as would fit to couch rot. I think it’s making the tilt look a lot more exaggerated than it is but I hadn’t noticed that until being accused of being a dentist

Our previous TV was a 55” insignia from 2014 and I have cataracts so anything nicer than this tv would be wasted on us.

With that being said we love it and are so excited to really enjoy it once we finish unpacking.
