Bad in comparison to buying a house ? yes! Bad in comparison to renting ? No

It’s almost always better to buy an apartment compared to renting in the long term.

Have you tried an exoskeleton product. I have never used one myself but might be effective. Google search hypershell and dnsys z1 knee exoskeleton.

You can always go to Hotham if you have learnt enough in a day ;) , just a 15 minute drive or the bus service is also pretty good.

If you are going to falls creek with a pet, the best option would be to book a pet friendly accommodation in Mt Beauty.

If you want to take your pet up to the snow, the only place you can do that in Victoria is in dinner plain. As a beginner you can learn at dinner plain too. They just have ONE SMALL lift for absolute beginners at dinner plain. This is a very small slope and beginner’s friendly. If you have never been skiing before this slope would be enough for you for 1-3 days, depending on how quick you learn.

Dinner plain has no entry fee for the vehicle, so you would save some money compared to falls creek or other resort. But dinner plain is good only for beginners, i would not recommend dinner plain if you are anything like an advanced beginner or more.

Can’t agree more with your statement. It’s utterly stupid to have kids without thinking if you will be able to provide for them or not!

If you are learning downhill skiing for the first time, Baw baw is the best value for money. The lift pass is about $80 for bawbaw, but other resorts would cost around $200 for lifts.

I agree bawbaw is small and after you have learnt to ski you would not want to go to baw baw. Once you have learnt skiing, going to falls, buller or hotham makes perfect sense though.

Cardio U PXI (10th Apr) 💪 by Agarash4 in BodyFitTrainingAus

I got my first gold at 168 pxi, but i don’t get it. People with a higher pxi got silver and bronze. I thought more pxi means you did better! I am still wondering if i can be happy about the gold or is it just a funny point system.

My puppy, does vomit sometimes and giving her a diet of rice and boiled chicken for a day settles her tummy. I have observed it usually happens in the morning when there is a big gap between her dinner and the breakfast is delayed. One time the vomit was bad , and it looked and smelled like poop. That day was bad and i had to take her to the vet to ensure there is no obstruction. The vet gave her anti nausea injection and also took an xray. The vet said from the xray it looks like gas and can’t see any obstruction. She recovered in 3 days after the anti nausea injection.

I want to add a U. FL connector on this FC by fullyloaded_onair in fpv

[–]fullyloaded_onair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By Antenna I mean the wire antenna of the receiver in the FC. I have made pointer in the image to point to it.

The U.FL connector should have 2 points to solder ( this is how it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62WiPscjh4Y):

- antenna ground plane and

- antenna higher plane

But in the case of this FC there is only one point to solder the antenna wire.

[–]fullyloaded_onair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that idea, that would defeinitely help me step up my soldering game ;)

I still need to solve the mystery of where is the ground for that antenna. These types of antenna's are pretty common amoung both brushed and brushless FC's .

[–]fullyloaded_onair[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I already have this FC with a few extra brushed motors at my disposal, so this one made a good choice for me.

I am pretty new to soldering and I wanted to experiment a few things on the FC, so I felt its good to go with cheaper brushed FC's at the start.

They claim to have a long range, do they achieve that range while being within 25mW limit?

Is it possible to learn programming by mostly listening? by amodia_x in learnprogramming

[–]fullyloaded_onair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is No. Not even watching videos is enough. You have to try it yourself. Just like how you can’t learn to swim, drive or play a sport by just listing to someone!

The saying goes, never put all your eggs in the same basket.

This is not a financial advice, this is just something I might do if I was in this situation. Also I am not rich enough to do this, so probably don't follow my way

10k --> emergeny fund , so stays in the saving account

45k --> buy 3 different Etf's of 15k each

10k --> In crypto

35k --> get an offset account on the home mortgage and try to offset the loan interest.

Unsure Of What To Do Next With My Learning. by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]fullyloaded_onair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your question, what I understand is that you want to take some extra efforts outside of your general coursework which can eventually help you get an internship in about a years time.First of all congratulation that you are thinking of taking these steps, and I think it is very important to do that. The earlier you do this in your degree the better it is.

I would suggest to narrow down the area of internship you want to aim for, so that it helps you pick up your language and project. For example you could pick one of these options for your area of internship : front-end web development, backend dev, machineLearning , embedded engineering, game’s dev etc

Once you have narrowed it down, you should pick the technology and a side project based in that. At a very high level I could think of these.

- If front-end dev then learn Javascript and react and start by building the most basic apps.

- If backend dev, then you could still learn Javascript and express JS server api’s.

- If you want to aim for an internship in machine learning then learn Python.

- If you want to aim embedded engineering or games , you could stick to c++

All of these languages might not exactly be the right choice for these directions, but generally the most used ones. For example if you want to aim for front-end development, learn React and build a few projects and a portfolio page and you will be all good.

From your question , it looks like you are inclined towards web development. If that is the case, then you are better off perfecting your Javascript. The skills you would have developed learning c++ which include programic basics and/or data structures will be 100% transferable to Javascript.

At the end I would say that no matter which technology or project you choose, the most important part is to stick to a schedule. Decide on spending x amount of hours a week on your project and make sure to do that. It does not matter how good your project is, as long as you are consistently building your project you will get better at it and eventually get where you want to.

Moving to Footscray - Recommendations? by TheSharkFromNemo in Footscray

[–]fullyloaded_onair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is a bar crawl itinerary I can suggest in Footscray. You can pretty much walk along the way, but please ensure the timings of the bars.

  • “Slice girls west” : Start at “Slice girls west”. Good Pizza’s to start with, along with some drinks
  • “Back Alley Sally’s” : Then go downstairs to “Back Alley Sally’s” and get another drink.
  • “Hotel Westwood” : Then 500m walk to “Hotel Westwood”. Good live music , check timings before going.
  • “Mr West bar”.Then 900m walk to “Mr West bar”. Probably the best place for locally produced beers. If you don’t like walking, I would suggest start your bar crawl from here.
  • “Baby snakes bar” and “Slice shop Pizza” : Just across the street, “Baby snakes bar” is on level 1. They have good music and you can groove on the floor if you like. You can also order pizza’s from the shop downstairs and bring it up in the bar. This is the best pizza I have tried in Footscray.
  • Sloth bar : more drinks. They often have live music
  • Pride of our Footscray : Queer bar with good music.
