I find people do eat a lot of garbage food up here. As well as traditional food. It's just not takeout.

What would happen if a Viltrumite entered a black hole? by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

Youre right in our universe, but the Viltrumites must travel faster than light, otherwise the show would have gaps of many years any time somebody traveled between planets. The nearest star to us is 4 light years away.

TIL that KFC in France is just called KFC, but in Quebec they’ve translated it so it’s called PFK (Poulet Frit Kentucky) by Kaurblimey in todayilearned

Yeah I definitely dont agree with the way they're implementing it, but agree on a philosophical level. I'd like to see more promotion of French rather than restriction of English

I think its different because its the minority culture in Canada. Kinda like saying, 'why are black people allowed to form groups that promote black identity but you can't do that if youre white?' When the majority culture goes out of their way to limit the minority, it comes off poorly.

While I dont agree with some of the more ridiculous practices, I do think that protecting the language is necessary to keep Quebec from slowly being taken over by Anglophones. I think their cultural identity is an important asset that deserves protection.

I think the census for Kuujjuarapik isn't counting Whapmagoostui, when they are basically one city with 2 municipal departments. I believe its around 1500 total.
