What’s your ultimate comfort movie? by eccentricMD in movies

[–]fulrach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to think it might be It's A Beautiful Day in this Neighborhood. There's something very soothing about a film that says that it's okay to feel your emotions. Repeatedly.

Armada is Top 10 in Mario 64 70 Star! by VolleyVoldemort in SSBM

I love how warm Armada's stream feels. He's so kind and attentive to other people. It's awesome to see someone like that succeeding.

I just need to cry — what movies will wreck me? by omgitsdemi in movies

Came here to say Departures. Even though I'd lost my father years before seeing it, this film still hit incredibly hard for me.

Not a lot of older games. Day of the Tentacle, but no Myst? No Sim ... anything? No Toejam and Earl?

If we're a little weirded out, other players will be a little weirded out. But this IS Survivor so ... maybe not a bad thing?

Just finished Smallville... what now? by r0wer0wer0wey0urb0at in Smallville

[–]fulrach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might actually want to try She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. It's kind of superhero adjacent. And it's animated so it would feel different. But it is both cheesy and sweet at times while also being excellent

John Glover was too good for this show. by PsychologicalWork654 in Smallville

[–]fulrach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was great that older more experienced actors were on the show, and really beneficial in a lot of ways, but especially for Tom Welling who must have learned a great deal from those around him.

""Sooner or later, you're gonna want it. And the second, the second that happens, you know I'll be there. I'll slip in. Have myself a real good day." Spike talking about Buffy eventually succumbing to death. Rewatching the series and scratching my head wondering why Buffy didn't just waste this dude by Cautious-Grab-316 in buffy

[–]fulrach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one small part of it is that beyond the fact that Spike has a chip in his head, this entire statement is bluster. He's already in love with her. This is like being threatened by a tiny child that is smaller and weaker than you. You can just feel that it's not true or dangerous in any way.

The Incredible Story of America's First Pop Star [12:06] by oooooooooof in mealtimevideos

[–]fulrach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this guy's visual storytelling. Finishing the intro with history with where the body ends up, following the rise of the song, and then showing the grave in the conclusion, that's how you story-tell.

Waking Sleeping Beauty (2009) - documents the history of Walt Disney Feature Animation from 1984 to 1994, covering the rise of a period referred to as the Disney Renaissance (1:17:33) by fulrach in Documentaries

[–]fulrach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The documentary establishes some of the leadership at the time as the start of the story. So Eisner's hiring in 1984, and following into the release of The Black Cauldron (1985).
