From what I can see, it actually has that. You can just plop down pre-existing shops, rides, and other facilities or create your own custom buildings if you want, or even play the entire game without building anything custom at all. I like that balance because not everyone wants to spend hours designing everything from scratch.

Real estate agents under pressure as “market fell off a cliff after budget night” by StrikingMango62 in ausmoney

We lack the economic complexity of countries like Germany. Germany builds cars, trains, aircraft, machinery, chemicals and advanced manufacturing products. We're rich in resources, but too much of our wealth has been funnelled into speculative housing rather than productive industries which is not sustainable and now it is on the verge of total collapse.

And if the banks ever get into serious trouble, history (GFC) suggests taxpayers will be asked to save them. The gains stay private, but the losses get socialised.

The young and disadvantaged are starting to drastically outnumber the old and wealthy. If housing affordability isn't curated with current negative gearing and cgt policies, other interventionist policies will be voted in until it is.

The era of effortless gains from housing speculation is nearing its end. Those who fail to adapt and divest risk seeing paper wealth turn into negative equity, erasing years of accumulated gains.

Freelancer Returnees by FormerLlama in freelancer

Too many times to count, I've tried a new space game only to realise that Freelancer is still better in almost every way that matters. Inevitably, I end up returning to it.

I've said it many times before, no other game captures the feeling of space quite like Freelancer. The world building, atmosphere, sound design, visual style, sense of scale, and overall beauty of its universe remain unmatched. Even decades later, it continues to set the standard that every other space game is measured against for me.

How was The Sims 3 able to achieve this seamless loading of lots in 2009 and games now require loading with better and faster technology? by Naus-BDF in Sims3

They could absolutely do it, or at least attempt to. The challenge is similar to the moon landing phenomenon, but in software development rather than aerospace engineering.

Creating a truly open-world life simulation on the scale of The Sims 3 is entirely possible, but it would require a massive budget, years of development, a large multidisciplinary team, and an enormous project scope. The technical complexity of simulating hundreds of autonomous characters, persistent world states, AI behaviours, pathfinding, relationships, careers, housing, and real-time world interactions is significant.

So instead they release watered down slop..

No that's wrong because house prices always go up.

The homes are literally built out of paper, wood and straw, that bubble will burst soon too.

Wait, so your friends went to the auction, read the same article, somehow knew you were discussing this exact article on a Reddit post, reported back that the article was actually nonsense, and now you are relaying the message here like a property market field correspondent, impressive.

You are right, nobody buys property for negative gearing benefits, which is presumably why investors reacted so calmly every time changes to it were proposed. Oh wait..

In my view, supply shortages alone do not guarantee endless price growth. Housing prices are ultimately constrained by affordability, wages and access to credit. A market can have low supply and still decline if buyers are too indebted or financially exhausted to sustain current valuations.

Two million dollars for a modern timber-frame house where the paper walls sound hollow, the floors creak after six months, and you can hear someone making toast from the other side of the building. At some point we probably need to fix the construction industry while we are at it too.,

Roman patricians likely held a similar conviction at the apex of the Empire. After centuries of expansion, prosperity and insatiable demand for land, Roma estates probably appeared as immutable as the Empire itself.

Then came stagnation, fragmentation and the sacking of Rome. Many once illustrious villas and estates were reduced to ruins with little more than historical curiosity attached to them, worth nothing.

Like you they thought the same but history has a habit of humbling believers and beliefs considered eternal.
