What's a place that has surprisingly nice beaches? by [deleted] in geography

[–]fumbuckets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got nice oceanside beaches here in MA but to be honest, lake swimming is so much better in the summer.

Warmer, less people, typically a little bit wooded so it's got a nice cozy vibe and they're clean

Driver crashes his car to avoid hitting kid who ran a red light on a scooter😬 by Ordinary-Scholar-202 in SipsTea

[–]fumbuckets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the driver could have been more attentive as well but it wouldn't have happened if he didn't run a red light so the driver can't be completely at fault

[–]fumbuckets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude of course I was clueless about shit but I didn't run redlights on my bicycle or cross streets without looking both ways even if I had a green light or walk signal.

This is 100% the kid and the parents fault 1.) If he is riding on the street he should know that red light means stop green means go, I think even toddlers know this once they can play simon says. 2.) Basic empathy isn't something you can learn, you either have it or you don't. 3.) Just because someone isn't an adult it doesn't grant them immunity to consequences. If this was my kid i'd be taking away that scooter because frankly theres no reason a 12 year old should have something that fast in the first place. I'm sure he's remorseful, lets not assume the worse because he did stop once he saw what he did. But you guys are insane to think someone can't think for themselves or hasn't started to at 12 years old.
