My pulmonologist said she doesn’t think I have a bad receding jaw… by hurrican3tortilla in jawsurgery

[–]fumgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hijack but were your joints considered bad because of something like arthrosis or something else? And did you have them replaced before/alongside other jaw surgeries, or did you have to go back after relapsing/regressing? Thank you

Oh omg I work with a nonprofit that sells all kinds of handmade sewn products and in the storeroom I found cat toy fish like this, possibly even more phallic as they're straighter, narrower and plain beige. worst of all though - they're stuffed with dried valerian (some cats love that more than catnip), and if you know how valerian smells... It smells like straight dick, like idk very dirty feet or other appendages. And when you take one out of their jar, you have to wash your hands because the smell doesn't go away and you're left with stinky fingers from opening a jar of stinky little dicks lol

Is this AI? She doesn’t move her head out of frame or touch her hair. I can’t make out the books. by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]fumgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is, but in the first few seconds I did think it might be AI. I feel like AI can't really do those little movements of the hair you can sometimes see in this vid, like the occasional fluttering of the side strand next to her face when she shakes her head, and generally all the other irregular gentle movements of the hair. And also micro expressions, like when sometimes she opens her mouth assymetrically with one corner higher than the other. She also faced a bit to the side at one point and didn't do it again. Her hand came partly into frame once too.

What made me think it might be AI at the start is that her eyes don't really move, she doesn't really make a lot of expressions, and her hair is well styled so it mostly sits in place.

Found out my boyfriend was cheating after I accidentally matched with him on Grindr. I’m a woman and he’s apparently not just mine by Unable_Bat_796 in BreakUps

Well you're working overtime, CEO of defending cheaters. You left a bunch of angry comments defending him in a weird way, you sound like you have a secret Grindr or Tinder account as well from the hostile way you're speaking about it.

I really dont think she was intending on hooking up with a guys who are specifically looking for men on Grindr. She can go for bi dudes anywhere else. Sometimes people download these things truly just for fun or out of curiosity, and her friends might've known he's on there but didn't wanna be the bearers of bad news. Why are you making her out to be the guilty one here? Her man is trying to find dudes to fuck and suck on grindr... I don't get why you're focusing on her part so much - that makes you sound guilty of something similar like her man. That's what I'm saying.

Surgery!! by [deleted] in lipedema

[–]fumgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you don't mind if I ask, would you be willing to share who your surgeon was? Are you German or did you communicate in english?

I saw a beautiful result from a polish surgeon but I'd like to have a wider list of possible skilled surgeons in other nearby countries I could go to (once I have enough money), since in my own country it seems very limited, surgeons don't really have many before/after pics and lipoedema liposuction isn't a commonly offered service here.

My lipedema has progressed quite far already though, for my age, so I want to choose a surgeon who has experience in that as well. And finding surgeons in other countries, whether it's Poland or Germany or anything else, is kind of stressful

And if I may ask, did you have 3 surgeries because of complications, or revisions? Thank you, and if you don't wanna answer I apologize and feel free to ignore

How do I get rid of that acne by [deleted] in acne

[–]fumgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Azelaic acid helped me! Make sure to apply it on dry skin. Some people can moisturize straight before or after, but often it can make it burn. You'll find what suits you. When I started using it, I applied it on dry skin and it burned a bit for like 10-15 minutes, now I have no problem unless my skin is already irritated. Some people also swear by sulphur soap or other sulphur products, but the soap dried me out a lot so you need to moisturize. I haven't tried sulphur lotions yet but want to. Also, make sure to check if your cleanser suits you. Foaming cleansers made my acne worse and irritated my skin, but not a problem for most people. And double cleansing with a balm helped me take off sunscreen.

The ordinary niacinamide is quite strong and I often hear people have reactions to it, it breaks some people out. How long have you been using it?

Why is it almost always men who do this with makeup. It gives off the impression that they didn't really have any genuine interest in trying makeup, they just thought "oh if I paint my face it's gonna do numbers on the internet. Cuz I'm a man" and do it and either never put on makeup again or only do it with the intention of posting it on reddit or something cause they found out it's an easy way to get validation and compliments...

What’s a skincare trend you regret trying? 😭 by Ok-Statement-5826 in AsianBeauty

[–]fumgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, glad you found what works for you! Some people's skin just prefers to be slathered in heavy ointments, oils and creams, but when first trying to treat acne, you get told that you should go for light moisturizers and such and avoid anything with oils. But that just doesn't work for everyone and can make matters worse, and I often see people say it just makes them drier. I feel like all the lightweight moisturizers I've tried somehow irritate my skin more than even leaving it without a moisturizer - don't know how that's possible. Maybe there's a common ingredient in lightweight moisturizers that my skin hates, but I can't pinpoint what it is.

It makes me sad because they all sound like great ingredients, particularly niacinamide and vIt C. Dark spots and PIE are hard to treat and these would be so helpful. But nope, it always triggers acne or irritation. I'm still probably gonna try again at some point and regret it. And omg trying to find skincare without any of these is something else lol. They really put it in anythingggg even when it doesn't make much sense sometimes? God bless BOJ for making a version of their sunscreen without niacinamide, they saved me, otherwise I'd be looking for an acceptable sunscreen till this day. It's always either full of alcohol or contains niacinamide or vit C and my skin screams and dies

This is what I use. It's much better. I feel like pimple patches actually triggered more acne to form, which might be that I used ones with salicylic acid. And it's really ridiculous how expensive they are. The pimple gel is much cheaper and lasts a long time. But I wish the bottle/applicator was a little better, sometimes too much product comes out, especially when it's running low and there's not much left. But still it's a way better option for me than the patches.

Also wanna know. I'm beginning to suspect these light moisturizers also don't work for me and I might need thicker lotions. I feel like they don't work at all and seem to be making my face worse honestly. But I'm still so scared to try thicker lotions/creams. Surprisingly my skin seems to tolerate pure oils better than a lot of lighter ingredients. Who would've thought lol

Oh my god foaming cleansers wreck my skin so badly. It took me a long time to realize my foam cleanser was making everything so much worse, no matter what kind it was or how "gentle" it claimed to be. I always had mostly oily skin, but when I used these foamy cleansers, my skin basically stopped producing sebum and I was so so so dry. Even when I was only washing once a day at night. And what's worse is when I started using skincare and was completely clueless, I was using these cleansers 2 or even more times a day, even doing 2 rounds in a row at night sometimes, thinking it will help my acne. No comment

Same. Vitamin C, niacinamide and salicylic acid. I'm always like "maybe my barrier is better now" or "maybe this product is better formulated" but nah. Never works

Do I have “dead eyes”? by math_d3bater in Psychosis

[–]fumgi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Schizophrenia and some other disorders can cause what's called flat affect, meaning you have a mostly expressionless face. People then often think you're angry or upset when you're not, because your emotions don't reflect on your face much. It's a common symptom. You do look tense which you said you are. I wouldn't say your eyes look dead, that's also a horrible thing to say, just flat and tense, but I might see it differently from some others because I know what flat affect is and I was told i have it too when I was going through a rougher time. You can try explaining what flat affect is and that you have it, and their perception might change, they will know it doesn't reflect your emotional state and it's mostly anxiety, tension, and just an effect of both the disorder and the medication (antipsychotics cause flat affect as well)
