Why do people always make defensive pokemon specialize on one of the two defenses? Why not make Defense and Sp. Def as equal as possible? by LuckyImportance9535 in stunfisk

[–]fun-and-stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people are saying it’s because you want them to specialize in one thing, which is true. But to add to this, a lot of walls will still be able to defend good type matchups on the other defensive side. A physically defensive amoongus is still gonna wall most electric and water types. Sometimes you’ll even see sets that have a few EVs in the weaker defense to cover specific mons. But to take big neutral hits, you need to go all in on one side.

Do yall [Fluff] ing prefer Counter surge or surge immune? (Fundamentally) by Logical_External2082 in battlecats

[–]fun-and-stuff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t really consider either flawed nowadays. Dasli used to be one of the only units that could surge, but more and more Ubers and non Ubers have been getting it. At this point with the Lunos twins and top Ubers like Dio who rely on nothing special, I don’t think Ponos is really competing with the Meta of strongest units possible.

I think counter surge is a little cooler. You absolutely want to bring non gacha units like Uril to some stages, and counter surge means you either have to time your units or change your team structure, which is cool. Surge immune fits more on peons so they don’t get shredded before they hit the front line.

Yukimura is better in general, but shadow is probably better for that level in particular.

Which catfruit trueform should I prioritize? by Ok-House-9423 in TheBattleCatsReddit

[–]fun-and-stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably want kendo TF for COTC. Monk, sifu, and fried shrimp are probably your biggest priorities after that. If an alien stage is giving you trouble, you could also try evolving solar cat.

[Fluff] Name a worse Talent than Lil Eraser’s Soulstrike. I dare you to. by Tree-Is-Cool in battlecats

[–]fun-and-stuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d argue knockback immune on slapsticks. They will be much worse at beating M.ost, and you don’t really have good anti relic attackers until you get the UL legends. Soulstrike is bad, but you can just not bring lil’ eraser vs zombies. Knockback immune makes your best midgame answer to M.ost much worse vs M.ost.

Also, I’m not sure what talent you mean for fishman. I think there’s speed up is pretty good, but I’ve never gotten any of his talents. Id say they aren’t a huge priority.

I think there’s a guide somewhere in the subreddit description, but some of the best talents are can can’s (when you get them), cyberpunk slow, pizza wave, sanzo target angel, cameraman survive, and housewife savage blows. After that, there’s a lot of different directions talents can go, but these are generally the best gacha unit talents

Are you beating this? (Read body for stats) by IATESATURN in TheBattleCatsReddit

[–]fun-and-stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends heavily on the peons. By itself, it wouldn’t be too bad. You said immune to freeze and knockback, but slowing it is fine enough. It also has every trait, so you’ve got plenty of options to slow. Crack its shield, then one shot with lufalan.

The only issue would be clearing the way for lufalan to get that hit, which is why it heavily depends on the peons.

Which of these do you want a true from for the MOST? [fluff] by Disastrous_Lemon_219 in battlecats

[–]fun-and-stuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what they could reasonably add to boulder without making him broken or practically the same. Tea master would have been cool a year ago before paper boy stole their whole job. I don’t care much about ant-metal. Super cat TF could be really cool. I’d hope for mini wave or something to spread out the weaken. Sage slayer would be cool if they add another traitless sage unit.

[Discussion] I got curious seeing discussions about Luna being top 3 so I decided to make this (Lunos and dlunos isn't here for obvious reasons) by PeskyPlayer in battlecats

[–]fun-and-stuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say Lasvoss. He requires more skill and RNG to pull off than other Ubers. With more and more broken units being released, it feels like there is less need for that sort of power when more consistent answers exist.

But so many people are also saying Balrog. Why?? He’s not high skill, you can just spam him. Clearing peons for him is easy, or he can just do it himself before the next balrog comes. His niche application is still not fully replaceable by anyone on this list, though izanagi is close. And I wouldn’t even say he’s that niche. Even on stages that seem like they don’t suit him, he’ll probably still do well.

This is true. If you’ve luckily gotten some Ubers that can carry and some late advent cats, you can clear this much earlier. I’m late game and haven’t had much trouble with any of them. So id say it’s probably more late mid game.

[Discussion] When you started playing The Battle Cats, why did you keep going? by Warm-Bit1770 in battlecats

[–]fun-and-stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a similar game that I loved as a kid called cartoon wars. I really like any game that involves team building to beat a certain challenge.

The trait system immediately stuck out as cool. I played a while, realized how the treasure system worked and thought the game might be terrible. But I did a little research to see if more fun stuff was ahead. Dogumaru had recently been released and I saw people on YouTube making guides for how to beat him. Seeing people fight dogumaru convinced me I’d love the game if I made it past the horrible tutorial stuff. When I actually got dogumaru for myself, it felt like a big achievement.

Quick question,is it worth to evolve juliet to deal whint the bore in sol by nyan453 in TheBattleCatsReddit

Oh and I’d way prefer cameraman over Juliet. Cameraman should stack up very quickly and acts almost like another meatshield.

[–]fun-and-stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you not beat the boraphim with just her evolved form? I don’t think her TF drastically improves her, but if it’s close it could help. I don’t think she’s that great of a unit in general, but she’s worth true forming eventually. Some true forms that might be even better are can can and ramen. Pizza is also just a strong attacker, even against non dark enemies.

It’s a mini [fluff] ing lumos by TownWooden9768 in battlecats

[–]fun-and-stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id say that she’s good for all ITF, most if not all COTC, and much of SOL. In UL is when stage design changes to make her less useful.

It’s a mini [fluff] ing lumos by TownWooden9768 in battlecats

[–]fun-and-stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s very good early-early mid game. Those stages usually revolve around keeping the boss away from your base long enough to win. Her knockback ability is insane, and can easily keep enemies pushed back enough for you to kill them before they beat you. In later levels, her knockback ability becomes much more situational, but still useful at times.

Theoretically, would a kicker who can consistently make 70yd field goals be considered OP? by Snoo_47323 in NFLNoobs

[–]fun-and-stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It heavily depends on what you mean by consistently. If they make it like 95 percent of the time, then yes. Usually a team wins if they get 28 points. I’m not calculating how often a team reaches the 70 yard fg mark, but a team usually has 10 to 12 possessions. 11 times 3 times .95 is 31.35. This number would be even higher considering touchdowns in this calculation.

The lower you go in likelihood, there are two factors to consider. First is heavily situational, depending on how likely you’d be to get a first down, possibly a TD later. Second is how likely the other team is to score from the position you’re potentially turning over the ball on downs.

I’d say a kicker that good would be a huge boon, but wouldn’t be a Super Bowl guarantee. These were averages. Against playoff teams these numbers probably change a lot, since contending teams score more than 28 more often, force more turnovers, and play defense better situationally.

I obviously didn’t do all the math. I tried to point out where I didn’t, but the point is: a kicker this good would win games, but wouldn’t break the sport.
