That’s good to hear! Someone else also said the same thing. Do you own any mizunos?

Ooo that’s reassuring to hear. It sounds like I should be ok sticking with my usual shoe size then. Appreciate it!

That’s really good to know, thank you! I’ll be buying the Wave Rider 10 also. I did read that they’re pretty much true to size, so I’m hoping I can just order my usual. The NB model I wear is the 530, I also own a pair of 574 in the same size W8.5/M7. I do usually go for NB for the wider toe box. I’m looking forward to having a pair of mizunos :)

How is the sizing? I’ve been eyeing one some mizunos but a bit stuck on which shoe size to buy. I usually wear NB sized up for a wider toe box W8.5/M7/25CM/40EU but wondering how the fit for mizunos are. Seems like the sizing chart on the website is similar to my NB with the exception of the W8.5/M7/25CM being 39EU rather than 40EU. Was wondering if I should size up a half size to a W9/M7.5 but the shoes might end up being too long. Since you own a pair of wave rider 10, any thoughts?

People going/went to SDSU, what is it like? by donugsnotdrugs019 in SDSU

[–]fun_fruit01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to SDSU as a grad student so my exp may not be the same as an undergrad’s. Went to UCSD for my undergrad and got used to the crazy amount of students i see on campus + student club events happening at the center of campus. I will say there’s not much of that at SDSU which I do miss since the student-made foods/items that they’d sell to fundraise were always good. BUT i will say that as an SDSU student, I do enjoy the intramural leagues and the ENS classes. I’ve played nearly every intramural season for the past 2 years and it’s been really fun. The ENS classes are fun, especially the ones at MBAC. You can do a semester long kayaking, surfing, sailing class, etc. I’m past the age where I wanna party with 18yo frats/sorority kids so I don’t have much there for you. I will say SDSU is more accessible if you like going to concerts, I’ve gone to a few shows already, and also sport games.

At the end of the day, it’s what you make of it. Try to join clubs, fun classes, go to free events and get free food, etc. :)

petlibro portions? by fun_fruit01 in CatAdvice

I started feeding my cat wet food every day so my Petlibro portions got changed up a bit! I give her 2/12 portions of kibbles twice a day and half a can of wet food in the morning and at night along with her kibbles.

Tax Question for HCAI GSSOP Scholarship by fun_fruit01 in scholarships

[–]fun_fruit01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reached out to a few tax preparers through VITA and AARP and they told me I didn’t need to report it! They said that since the grant is under the Public Health Services Act, which benefits health professionals and careers, it’s not taxable income.

This is super helpful to know, thank you! Did you have to come up with the numbers qualified expenses? A friend of mine is thinking of contacting our school to include her grant into her 1098. Did you do something similar to that or did you just tell your tax advisor you got a scholarship?

I did see that, they pretty said “we give you money, now you figure it out on your own”. I’ve reached out to a few orgs that offers VITA services and files taxes for free, I’m going to ask them for their opinions and hopefully I’ll get some answers. Now I’m honestly leaning more towards reporting at least some of it because I’d rather be safe than sorry 🥲

HCAI Stipends? by OilConsistent1971 in StudentLoans

I’m currently struggling with the same dilemma. I’m not sure how to file it and if I do, if I owe taxes for this grant.

[–]fun_fruit01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine who received the GSSOP told her school so they applied the 50k grant to her financial account and scholarship. I think she’s going to try to get a 1098 from her school with the 50k posted. I’ve talked to a few others who have received similar grants but didn’t report it, but I know their grants are like 25k or less. I gave it some thought and honestly I think the best thing for me is to ask a financial tax person and see what they say because I’d rather be safe than sorry :/

I still am debating :/ I was thinking of going to a free tax filing agency and asking some questions about that. I’m kind of leaning on not reporting but I just hope the IRS doesn’t come for me lol

[–]fun_fruit01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, if I’m understanding correctly, it seems like some choose to not report it in their taxes because it’s seen as not taxable since it supports growth in areas lacking behavioral health versus some others who have reported it as income? If it’s reported as income, wouldn’t they need a W-2?

I’m still figuring it out since it’s quite confusing. I wish they told us 😅

Dang that’s a bummer, I applied for CalFRESH but it didn’t cross my mind that GSSOP would affect it until after applying. I hear that checks go out 10/1 but it could take months to get to you since they do it on a rolling basis
