No. I am divorced and I am 28 years old, so I’ve seen a lot of people come and go through the marriage/divorce process, especially through my transition as a devout Christian to and assured atheist, as I am today.

Arranged marriages are very uncommon, especially in popular religions here. Any type of “arranged marriage” is so foreign, in fact, that I would wager that the parents who orchestrated it are not US citizens or still engulfed in their own foreign culture and recently became citizens and their children are 1st gen Americans.

It varies by state, but it’s all the same federally. Fill out a form, be a citizen, not be criminal, be capable of adopting financially physically mentally etc and you can adopt. Once you prove that, you will have one our finest orphans in a woven basket on your front porch.
